    I worked at Wayne-Dalton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There were some excellent people to work with. The job pays fairly well. There are opportunities for advancement within the company.

    Cons

Unfortunately, moving up in the company is not easy. Some of the bosses seem to enjoy treating the employees terribly. You will work a lot of hours; sometimes, this place will virtually BE your life.

    Advice to Management

Offer employees an opportunity for continued education. Instead of making demands, ask your employees to work for you. Develop better leaders. The place needs leaders - not dictators.

    Cons

Hired to many people and not enough work to go around, Corporate bs, buy own tools.
Promises of promotion are a lie

    Advice to Management

Go back to how many people there were before, get rid of the current salesman and put someone in there's whose not afraid to go out an get us work.

I have been working at Wayne-Dalton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Offer Decent benefits and room for career advancement if you are an over achiever or if you are a very smooth talker you might get a place in management.

    Cons

During their busy season be prepared to live there. 5,6 & 7 days of 12 hr shifts for months on end. Don't expect ANYTHING to happen in a timely manner. From getting raises to equipment repaired to having vacation approved expect it to take weeks or months to happen. Major disconnect between employees and managers. Been there a few years and have seen countless 5,10, & 20 year veterans finding other employment this year.

    Advice to Management

Better Communications between you and your employees. If you say you're going to do something stick to it. It's easy to say we are working on a problem but months go by with no change.

    Pros

I have been with this company for 20 yrs. I find the pay and time off best in the industry.

    Cons

Outside of the transportation department there is total management failure. Product is not done on time. Customers finding other suppliers due long product turn around.

    Advice to Management

O H D corp should review the Mt Hope management team. Departments don't work together they only work on getting there production bonuses

    I have been working at Wayne-Dalton full-time

    Pros

decent benefits some co workers make the job worth it decent money

    Cons

horrible management they hire people off the street that have no clue about what you do in your area. They expect you to put out maximum amount of parts with faulty equipment that keeps breaking down but they wont pay the money to fix it right. During the slow season as soon as you get done you get sent home witch leaves you worrying about bills but during the busy season they expect you to work 12 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week. hardly any pay raises unless your a hard worker and your team leader likes you and will tell them that you deserve a raise so you don't quit I have watched so many people come and go do to poor pay or bad desions on managements part that some of us think we should be a revolving door company because of how many people come and go

    Advice to Management

get out off the office and actually spend some time on the floor doing the job

I have been working at Wayne-Dalton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a great company. Family atmosphere. Everyone looks out for one another. Very easy to deal with as far as getting time off. 401K, good benefits etc.

    Cons

It would be noce if you could get over 40 hours. Hourly pay is competitve but from a driver's standpoint, you get 15 less hours a week than any of the other local LTL trucking companies.

    Advice to Management

More recognition (monetarily) for outstanding employees rather than blanket pay advancement.
