I worked at Wayne J. Griffin Electric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Wayne J. Griffin Electric is well structured. The people who work at WJG Electric are industrious, kind, and always willing to help out a teammate. The goal of the company is always to get and keep work for the thousands of electricians Wayne employs while maintaining fair wages, proper benefits, and good work spaces (partially thanks to the wonderful HR department). The people at the helm are as smart, savvy, and busy...

    Cons

Construction is a competitive results driven industry, so the bulk of the pressure you might face while working at this company is really a consequence of the market. But you won't be intentionally exposed to that pressure until you can deal with it. If you are ever faced with a problem that you're not ready to solve, there's a stacked roster of experienced professionals, eager to share their knowledge, who will know...

I worked at Wayne J. Griffin Electric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The salary was equal to other jobs.

    Cons

Horrible experience. Employees just beat down. Not allowed to talk to each other! Sit at desk and just work. Clincher was when CEO bellowed, and I mean bellowed, for his secretary from his office. She picked up what she was doing and ran to him. Worked in a few offices in my life and this was hands down the worst. The positive reviews? Employees were told to post them.

    Advice to Management

Get up to speed! Change your office culture, try to be a little more human.

I worked at Wayne J. Griffin Electric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pays well, Time off was fair

    Cons

There was no time for training or coaching. Management has been there for a long time so anyone who hasn't worked there for 30 years gets treated like an idiot.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring people from outside the industry if you expect them to know the industry.

I worked at Wayne J. Griffin Electric full-time

    Pros

There is always work to do. The pay is great, it has to be.

    Cons

The micromanaging. You will be yelled at but everyone gets yelled at.

    Advice to Management

Don’t park in the first parking spot near the front door, it’s reserved. Don’t make popcorn in the microwave, make sure you have a lid on your beverage, always use Times New Roman size 12, everyone is required to submit a list of their outstanding work weekly to Wayne, don’t make personal calls, there is no expectation of privacy, don’t be caught socializing, just come in and work.

The owners are kind and generous and truly care about you and your family. You are not just a number working here. Everyone works very hard, and takes pride in their work. The company is growing and there is a lot of opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Very faced paced, but that is also a pro for some people.

      Advice to Management

I didn't get licensed in 4 states because of WJGE. I primarily did that on my own long before I came here. But to be terminated after only 3 weeks of employment without a full explanation sums up the negative reviews on this website. As far as the drug policy, let's just say that you would have to terminate half of your field work force if the drug policies were really put into place. Though I passed all my requirements...

I worked at Wayne J. Griffin Electric full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

      Offers benefits, 401 K , life insurance

      Cons

Horrible working conditions, a dictatorship, not allowed to speak socially. Will go through your personal belongings. Scare tactics , intimidation & extremely controlling . All employees must take random personal reviews of others that will go into your employment files. One more thing , don't get sick especially with cancer, you will be looking elsewhere by way if nasty reviews. Run!

      Advice to Management

Treat people like human beings, not soldiers at war! Management under the same control , by ownership.
