I have been working at Wayne State as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My boss is great. I was able to take time off when need be and I had a flexible schedule as a temp.

    Cons

I didn't like how inactive I felt. It's not my passion so I cannot say I enjoy sitting at a desk all day doing paper work and assisting students.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Advice would go above him and I would say let them hire more staff!

I have been working at Wayne State full-time

    Pros

Within my knowledge cardiovascular, and reproductive research are very well funded and translational in nature . Faculty are concerned with student needs and extremely responsive to student interaction. They have methodologies for development of students and post doctoral fellows to further their career goals.

    Cons

The medical graduate school does not organize many large social events beyond poster events for graduate students to come together interact and evaluate each other.

    Advice to Management

Generate more interdepartmental development programs to entice students to interact and evaluate each other as a means to improve skills and career outcomes. Additionally update the cafeteria and food resources in the main graduate school building.
