I want to become a financial analyst, but I lack experience with finance title. I’m considering applying for an entry-level position at a car dealership as a finance assistant. Would this be a valuable experience for starting out in the field? Job Description: Processing invoices and payments Reconciling bank statements Assisting with budget preparation Preparing financial reports Assisting with audits Performing other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager

I work for a major bank and am making $140k now for my role. Glassdoor list my salary as only $68k for my location. How do I negotiate a raise? I've been here 2 years now and this is my first real job out of college. In the past during my summer jobs I would say "I would like this because on glassdoor that is the average". Now I am unsure cause glassdoor is saying I make too much which can't be true since I didn't negotiate when they hired me starting at $120k.

Work from home. Folks are generally friendly. It's a quota-carrying sales job. Tech is good. Show up and make your calls.
Watch your back. Management is delusional. They think their niche travel platform is going to be the next Google. It's laughable.

Super transparent environment. Lots of support and encouragement and good vibes from an amazing team of people. This company walks their talk as far as their values go. I'm extra lucky because I have an extra special supervisor which always helps.
Nothing I can think of except pay might be a little less than other companies.2WeTravel Response2y
We're thrilled you know you're supported and valued, as every employee should be. Thank you for your honest review.

WeTravel has been so amazing to work for. The values, culture, remote-based work, and support have all been really wonderful. You can tell that the founders and employees care and it's really a great place to work. They are transparent and encourage growth in all aspects.
There are no cons I can think of.1WeTravel Response2y
Thank you for the review. As a small--but mighty and growing--team, our Co-Founders are able to work alongside each employee, in every department. This closeness allows for connection and collaboration, unlike larger businesses. Together, we're able to grow and learn.

Great Culture. Down to Earth.
Remote culture means you have to put the extra effort to reach out with colleagues.1WeTravel Response2y
We're thrilled you enjoy our company's culture, a large part of what makes our culture so wonderful is the many faces (on many continents) that make up our remote-first team. Since we're seasoned pros in the remote working world, our team is agile and flexible when booking meetings with colleagues, typically over a coffee! Though, of course, it requires some planning and flexibility on each employee when managing and booking internal meetings.

No work-life balance. Long hoursWeTravel Response2y
Hello, thank you for your review. We're thrilled you love the work you're doing; we're glad you're part of the team. We prioritize each employee's well-being, which is why we offer unlimited PTO and have implemented specific volunteering days, so we're sorry you feel unbalanced at work. Please, bring this discussion to your manager or HR so we can help balance your days and offload some work.

Small company so lots of opportunities to take on new projects and have impact on decisions. Friendly team.
Company isn't exactly a thriving startup. Management tries to present an image of a hip Silicon Valley startup with huge potential, but after 4 years of operating, the company is struggling to really have big time success or present a convincing argument to the masses for why their product should exist. Business model and niche has severe growth limitations, and at least in my opinion it will have a hard time growing into anything significantly larger than it is today. The founders, while friendly and with good intentions, don't have any professional background in achieving startup success, company leadership or getting acquired and they often seem amateurish and just trying to copy what they've seen in movies/books/pop-culture about how to run a startup more than actually be inspiring or innovative business leaders themselves.9

-Collaborative, friendly work environment -Company culture emphasizes taking initiative, being a self-starter, etc. and provides the flexibility to pursue projects you believe are impactful -Working at the intersection of travel & yoga (two of my biggest passions) keeps me excited about what I'm doing
-Life inside a start-up at this stage can be chaotic at times so burnout is a risk (but management is supportive of taking time off or working from home when needed; without that support the job could feel like a grind) -As we continue to grow, we'll need to invest more in tools for increasing our productivityWeTravel Response2y
Hello! We're thrilled you enjoyed your first 18 months with the WeTravel team and hope more thereafter. Thank you for the review, we appreciate your candid response. As we've continued to scale our business, our management remains consistent in its focus of the team's well-being and mental health. As always, this includes investing in productivity tools to meet our team's needs.
