      Cons

Poor management as far as you can see up the chain Good ol boy system in place and if you aren't kissing butt then you aren't in the click Lots of unknowledgeable field techs Manager has never run a packer (thinks rigs have elevators so you don't have to use stairs) Manager will work you into the ground to get his commission check up

      Cons

Poor management Hard to get the tools you need Sales who?? They should be paid off strait commissions I’m not about milking the clock I like to work and work hard if the work is there. Losing customers hand over fists leads to bankruptcy 🤭🤷🏼‍♂️

      Behind the Black Curtain

Mar 27, 2013 - Manager in Houston, TX

      Pros

Good launching point for a career in the Oil and Gas industry but will need to switch companies if you have any ambition. Wft almost never lays off anyone, very seldom will Wft cull the heard of the dead weight, which leaves mediocre employees with no career plan to hibernate their lives away in an office for 20 years without advancement, this is also a big CON depending on your vantage point.

      Cons

To much focus on external growth instead on internal efficiencies, 1980’s business modeling and poor management treatment of employees; bonus are just rumors (and only the very top managers in the inner circle get them) so don’t count on anything other than your paycheck, which will be on the lower side of market rate. Poor training, often thrown to the wolves’ to figure your job out based on job description hired for. CEU's are nonexistent so save your money to keep your own certifications current.

      Good People, Poorly managed

      Pros

The salary and benefits are more than fair. Annual performance reviews happen on time. Weatherford likes to promote from within and encourages their employees to pursue education and professional improvement.

      Cons

Weatherford likes to restructure every two years or so. This is probably to appease investors when poor management decisions have hurt the profitability of the company. This creates an environment where employees worry about their position's stability.

      Pros

Job stability, great benefits overtime. Easy way to enter the industry. Great coworkers. Break rooms and clean restrooms. Lots of parking spots. Gymnastics and aerobics.

      Cons

Poor management, slave wages, long hours, no preventative maintenance. Machine keep breaking down and stopping production. Safety quality and production are priorities but not in that order.

      Unethical/Unprofessional

Dec 4, 2015 - Geoscientist in Houston, TX
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Absolutely some of the best co-workers and colleagues one could ever want!!! Pretty nice place to work if not affected by interoffice politics. Pay is ok...but other companies pay 15-20% more for the same role. However, I would sacrifice the pay to work with my colleagues

      Cons

Very poor management and pointless middle/sub-management or supervisors. WFT has been financially unstable for a long time. Laying off the money-makers and workers hasn't help...why not try the opposite. Lets get rid of CEO's, VP's, and others that are making the bad decisions! In addition to corrupt management...there is absolutely no training worth anything. It's a "learn as you go" process with little support?
