    Pros

Chances for bonuses once you reach certain position, great coworkers. As long as you reach your goals, there is room for advancement. Plenty of chances to go to back office jobs using internal career site if that's something that interests you. They also offer job shadows so you can get an idea of what certain departments do. Monthly meetings with somewhat higher ups (market level) where you can express thoughts.

    Cons

Some managers are a bit too pushy when it comes to sales but the overall philosophy is good. Higher ups really just want you to take care of the person in front of you, some managers take it a bit too far and see everyone as a sales opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on the customers. Listen to employee concerns when they vocalize them to you.

I worked at Webster Bank full-time

    Pros

Bright talent exists in and out of the branches. Nice family business history. If you can take the gossip, crazy mergers, you will do fine.

    Cons

Management has no confidence in people and doesn't grow anyone. Upper level management is into every detail and only cares about the stock price and the "spin" to reporters. Promotions based on politics and not skills. No growth inside. No upper level mentorship. Too much bureaucracy, slow decision making and little innovation.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the talent in your teams and figure out how to save them before your competitor steals them. Those left are waiting for stock to mature, and little loyalty to each other.

I worked at Webster Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance and lots of time off. I never felt too burdened by work and never took my work home with me.

    Cons

Limited room for growth and limited investment into its employees. Old-fashion company that is stuck in doing things the way it always has.

Being headquartered in Waterbury isn't great and company makes it employees pay to park.

Webster looks to save money at every turn.

    Advice to Management

Invest in growing your company, employees, and capabilities. Don't be happy with the status quo and look to appeal to younger workers.

    Pros

Great culture, management is very involved. Good work life balance depending on what industry you are in. You can tell that Webster cares about it's customers and it is a good environment to work in.

    Cons

The only real cons would be the compensation. Being a regional bank doesn't leave much room to be paid that well. Otherwise, the company is great.

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of visibility within the company. It is not uncommon to meet with the top managers of the bank because they care what their employees think and they are willing to take suggestions from the inside. Good work!
