I have been working at Weetabix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Union based employment. Great Benefits after 6 months employment. Work environment is good for a Food Manufacturer. People and management are a plus. Lots of overtime work available.

    Cons

I never did adjust well to the 3rd shift working hours. Medical benefits kick in after 6 months of employment. This seems like an awful long time to wait.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great place to work as there is a lot of overtime work available to supplement 40 hr work week pay if desired.

    Cons

6 months required before full pay rate and medical plan becomes active and 1 year before vacation time becomes active

    Advice to Management

Shorten time to receive medical benefits to 30-60 days of hire date.

I have been working at Weetabix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few good people here left.

    Cons

No North America business model has worked. Constant reworking of plans and no clear direction. Management has people running in circles. People let go due to management's inability to use their skills properly and have them do the jobs they are hired for. Ridiculous expectations for growth and cost cutting without resources. CEO likes his own opinions and refuses to hear the truth from the people working there.

    Advice to Management

Please leave and get someone with clear strategic vision in place so people want to go to work again in North America. Listen to people trying to give you solid advice. They DO the work and might actually know something. Stop being afraid of the UK team. It's embarrassing to the team in the US to see our leader act like that.

I have been working at Weetabix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At Weetabix you get responsibility and accountability wherever you can handle it - so it isn't for people who like to hide behind others and sit in the corner quietly. It's focussed on people, with a clear strategy and ambition. The ability to make a difference is huge, there is a lot that needs to improve. There's a lot of visibility right to the top too, its friendly and people go out of their way to support you. You get a lot of professional stimulation, as much as you can handle, and the clear meaning and purpose mean it's clear how your work helps Weetabix achieve it's goals.

    Cons

Systems and processes can sometimes slow things down (we're pacey!). But that is being worked on as a big area of improvement.

I have been working at Weetabix full-time

    Pros

Demand and reward success. Provide opportunities for learning and succession. For salaried group a very autonomous role. Hourly group are motivated and well skilled, good place to work.

    Cons

Union resistance to change may be problematic in a market that is losing market share. Need to ensure agility in a competitive marketplace.

    Pros

Leading player in the U.K. cereal market - strong portfolio of focused brands. In touch with consumer trends and quick to offer consumer-centric solutions.

    Cons

Challenging and numerous priorities; hampered by its own systems and antiquated processes; some 'provincial' outlooks and aspirations. Retailers are very demanding.
