    Pros

The environment. Always work to be done.

    Cons

No Union. They can get rid of you and not give you any proof as to why. I've seen them terminate employment to many team members that spoke up about toxic management and didn't bend over like a good little team member should. Lazy brown nosers get away with doing the minimum while the hard workers get teh shaft. Promotion is by favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Stop being toxic. Stop lying and read a book or two on management and business etiquette.

    Pros

I have not found a single one yet

    Cons

It's like a cult. Managers are very unfriendly after about 2 weeks of employment. They preach kindness, caring, empowerment, but they treat you just the opposite. Always a fear of going to work. Fear of speaking up. People get fired or forced out easy.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with the kindness you ask them to show to co-workers and customers. Train your dept managers to be more employee friendly.

I have been working at Wegmans Food Markets full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good heath insurance. Easy to get time off when needed. Decent vacation days. And most of the benefits are good.

    Cons

Bad management, safety is the last thing they care about if you report a safety issue you are likely to get laughed at and told to get back to work lower management want to make themselves look good so they don't report near misses. Training is lacking as food safety is lacking( wash your produce trust me on this). Low starting pay compared to other companies who do the same thing. No incentives to want to do better no employee discounts or bonuses horrible shift start and end times. Favouritism run rampet and no accountability for managing

    Advice to Management

Start taking safety seriously not just saying you will and don't. Hire management who will actually actively manage and promote a better and safer work place and not Just sit on a computer all day looking up sports stats.. improve training to prevent food from being contaminated and crushed by poor pallet building. Give us incentives to want to do better and rewards for meeting goals. Even Wal-Mart does that.. And practice what you preach don't just say things and not follow through.

I worked at Wegmans Food Markets full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits were wonderful. Starting pay isn't the greatest, but the raises are 50 cents every 6 months for full timers. I believe a full timer starts at 12/hr now and a part timer 9/hr. Danny, the owner of the company is wonderful, and so is corporate.

    Cons

MANAGEMENT!!!! My particular store was terrible. Store manager was nice. Parishable manager I don't have words to describe him, as I don't think there is a word to describe him. Most of the managers were pretty bad in most the depts. they were a few good ones though. Gossip is out of control at that place, along with cliques like crazy. The "pets" get away with murder and will take 10 smoke breaks a day, then someone else may get paged over the intercom for going to the bathroom. Lost prevention spends their hours watching employees and making sure their not texting etc rather then doing what their supposed to do looking for shop lifters. Defiantly not a good place to work, unless you are one of those people with a little brown dot on your nose.

    Advice to Management

Quit the cliques and gossiping. Be more professional. Less coffee and more work. Slow down with the lying and putting a target on someone's back you want gone and making their day awful. Get a job at Walmart if that's your work ethic.

I have been working at Wegmans Food Markets part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your co workers will become your best friends. Some of the people I met here are the most professional people I've ever meant.

    Cons

The company discriminates against age, and gender. Everyone who is promoted is always younger. And is down right bashful. Supervisors yelling at post menopausal woman to hold there pee. It's honestly disgraceful and disgusting to work at such a place. That doesn't takes safety and equal opportunity into consideration.

    Advice to Management

Please for the love of God. Pay increases, take your employees more seriously. Investigate and audit for safety sake. Working at Wegmans is like waiting for a insistent report to happen. Thankfully for you, everyone is under age and doesn't know of their rights
