I have been working at Wegmans Food Markets full-time

    Pros

Company seems to care about employees as much as the customer, free food, really works around your schedule, great benefits.

    Cons

Favoritism, if management doesnt seem to like you then there is no way to move up at all.

    Advice to Management

Area managers should have more faith in their department managers when it comes to allowing their employees to post for a position

    Pros

Pay raises every six months and most of the people working there are super nice. It's very easy to make friends with the people there.

    Cons

Management can be very difficult to deal with and sometimes the customers can be very rude

    Advice to Management

Don't act like you have all the power in the world. Stay humble and don't sweat the small things

I have been working at Wegmans Food Markets part-time

    Pros

One of the best companies to work for. Employees are very cared about.
Sometimes there will even be free food in the breakroom which is always a plus.

    Cons

Although my pay has increased over the 6 years that I have been there, it was not adjusted to reflect the change in minimum wage. I started at 7.25 and I have earned my raises but I feel they should be consistent with the minimum wage increases.

I worked at Wegmans Food Markets part-time

    Pros

Great customers, decent pay, always busy, always something to do. Great learning experience for college management courses on how NOT to treat employees.

    Cons

Lack of dedication by management to loyal employees and top performers. Unprofessional front end manager who shows favoritism and is NOT a people person.

    Advice to Management

Place managers in positions they are competent for - having a non-people person manage the front-end who is unfriendly to customers and treats employees like they are 10 years old is not a good formula for employee morale. Follow through with promises made. Send mid-level managers to management training to help educate them on how to professionally treat employees, and to be fair and consistent.
