I worked at Weichert Family of Companies for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free property brochures and signage. Lots of opportunity to serve on public events and desk time and attend meetings. Yellow is a happy color.

    Cons

$40 desk fee. No benefits as independent contractor. The lead network program is ineffectual. Unless you pay the monthly premier agent fee your listings go primarily through the call center. There is a mentorship program but it is only as good as the agent you are given, if any at all. Tools are outdated and in flux but they are trying to improve that with expensive branding options. Archaic checklist processing. No... support teams, you are on your own. Primarily set up for independent agents not teams. Minimal support from staff and management, although some brokers are better than others, zero support from other agents, in fact quite the opposite. Superficially friendly environment. Very competitive between agents. Getting questions answered is like pulling teeth. Low inventory of signs to borrow. You must buy your own websites and lead generation tools. If you are a top producer you may receive additional lead generation tools at broker discretion. Expensive marketing branding options. Corporate marketing is unsophisticated and focused on building the Weichert brand. Advice to Management

None that they would take the time to listen to. Bottom line: The yellow signage is a red flag.

I have been working at Weichert Family of Companies for less than a year

    Pros

The office has a very friendly, laid back vibe. It is an office in the process of building so they are always looking for new agents to bring in new clients. All of the agents are helpful to one another and the broker is in the office every day or just a text away in the evenings or on the weekends to answer questions from his agents.

    Cons

Real estate is tough as there is no salary as a contract employee until you actually sell a property. There is some outlay of personal finances as you get started and it can take years to build a decent client base.

I have been working at Weichert Family of Companies full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great training programs both via Weichert University online course and in-house training. Company does all the advertising on their dime. Good mentor-ship program at the company. If self motivated great place to work. Really a good place to build your career as a real estate agent. Overall a great experience for agents.

    Cons

The split on commissions is less compared to most other brokers. Desk time is compulsory and are not paid for it. The insurance paid by agents is very high in comparison to other places.

    Advice to Management

Take care of agent needs and device a better system to handle public inquiries. Have a permanent dedicated employee to handle the phone desk rather than it being forced upon agents.

You're on your own schedule Broker doesn't demand you to be in the office every day Office manager is always helpful Create leads for you

    Cons

No matter how much you sell there will always be a split

    Advice to Management

After meaning a certain benchmark, it should go 100% to the agent

    Pros

People are very friendly and helpful. Traing program is well thought out and effective. Broker and Manager are easy to reach.

I worked at Weichert Family of Companies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great group of people to work with.

    Cons

Bad software accessibility and no local decision making ability for local marketing by offices. Web site still has old address and no profiles of agents. Referrals get sold back to listing broker for 35%.

    Advice to Management

Referrals should not be sold for one's own listings.
