I worked at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent medical and dental benefits, retirement plan, vacation and personal days, good working environment

    Cons

A lot of bureaucracy and cliques; promoting long-time employees could be more proactive.

    Advice to Management

Could be more proactive in seeking to promote from within.

I have been working at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment at Weill Cornell is wonderful. I work with so many smart, gifted and passionate individuals. The departments I work with have for the most part be very pleasant. The benefits are great as well.

    Cons

At times, the college is slow to make changes. Communication from leadership sometimes overwhelming... too little or too much, rarely a happy medium.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your employees and reward good work with bonuses or extra benefits, instead of giving more work.

I have been working at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to seek different opportunities and grow. Benefits are very good including tuition reimbursement for self and children who attend college.

    Cons

Salary is not very competive and percentage increase is not very good.

If you are located at the 1300 York Avenue office commute is horrible as it is four long blocks from train station.

I worked at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are top notch, the general staff is pleasant, overall good experience working there.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement in career, unless you want to dedicate a lifetime working there, and even then saw people continuously get disregarded for advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Show appreciation for supporting staff and their hard work more often. The health industry has a bad reputation because employees get burned out too quickly, and kinder encouraging words more often would help.

I have been working at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a highly collegial environment with excellent facilities and wonderful faculty. It's proximity to other institutions also helps facilitate collaboration.

    Cons

It is a relatively small institution. It's possible it would benefit from more direct and concentrated interaction with the Cornell University campus in Ithaca.
