    Pros

Easy work, helpful coworkers, flexible directors, friendly parents, school fees are very expensive so parents are more friendlier to teachers.

    Cons

Low pay, deal with children all day, If you don't have a passion for children then this is not the job for you. No benefits either.

    Advice to Management

If you want quality workers...pay them. Owners are cheap but want qualified workers.

I have been working at Weinacker’s Montessori School full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great families and kids. No weekend hours.

    Cons

Management is aloof and uncaring. Teachers are stretched too thin.

    Advice to Management

The owner should really take a good look at who is overseeing the schools. There's a reason that enrollment is dwindling.

    Pros

The children and families are wonderful to work with and the coworkers like to have fun.

    Cons

The company is all anout the bottom line and stretching the employees to their limits. The pay is minimal for the amount of work expected and upper management hassles.

    Advice to Management

Think more of being in service in this industry than making a profit.

I worked at Weinacker’s Montessori School part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Fantastic curriculum
    2. Reasonable salary
    3. Monday-Friday "bankers hours"
    4. Holidays Off
    5. An excellent benefits package that includes a very good insurance plan.

    Cons

I wish they could pay more, but they simply cannot afford to do so.

A bit catty, some of the long-term employees have their own agenda and they seem to have an awful lot of "power" and they have their own loyal "disciples'.

    Advice to Management

Push for federally mandated Pre-K4 programs for Alabama. Listen to your teachers complaints and use these as tools to make the program better. Don't put up with gossipy women who can be so catty. Don't put up with the informal organization and their "ring leaders" who bully other teachers. Some teachers and assistants quit because they've been picked on by the "old timers".

    Pros

The only great thing about working there was dealing with the children.

    Cons

The management was very unprofessional. There were always too many back door policy type issues where certain people are allowed to do things that others can not. The employees are not treated with respect as how information is not handed down to them.

    Advice to Management

Management should act more professional in how it releases information to parents and co workers. Parents should not know things that the workers do not even know, and vice versa.
