I worked at Weis Markets full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Staff are friendly store was clean

    Cons

Double the workload due to excessive call outs Lack of accountability

    Advice to Management

It is unfair to allow staff to call out excessively. Lots of nights I had to do more then my fair share of work due to the lack of staff. I would go to my manager and bring up my concerns as it was the same staff person calling out each week and was told "there is nothing I can do, Weis does not have an attendance policy and I am not permitted to council or write anyone up, my hands are tied." So the norm was this one...

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time

    Pros

A paycheck, if you can call it that

    Cons

Managers don't care about overnight crew. Managers will lie about anything to get you in the door. Always shorthanded. You will work every weekend. You will work every holiday with no holiday pay. You will be required to do things that aren't in your job description. No matter what you do it isn't good enough. Managers will go against corporate's orders and lie about store progress to make themselves look good....

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The work overnight is quiet and without much interruption, and daytime supervisors.

    Cons

Not enough workers to go around, one person calls out, everybody's pretty much screwed. The pay is on the lowest end for the work. No regular schedule.

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexible hours, Christmas Bonus, Paid Vacations, friendly co-workers, nice customers and low to mid-level managers are pretty good to employees.

    Cons

Upper management/DM are usually incompetent, don’t listen to complaints or concerns and bully other managers/employees for no real reason causing incredible amounts of drama and stress in the workplace and destroy morale. Employee hours constantly cut and no overtime is allowed no matter how much it is needed and all shifts are totally understaffed and overworked but expected to do the same or double the amount of work....

    Advice to Management

Bring back 3rd shift Night Stock in all stores. More work can be done at night with no customers in the store. This will make more people want to shop there knowing employees, carts and boxes won’t be in their way while they try to shop and employees that are expected to put an entire grocery order up won’t have customers asking them to help them and prevent the employee from meeting their expected piece counts and finishing...

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I can't honestly think of a single good thing about working for this company. Things have been going downhill ever since my first day and show no signs of improving. I'm a soon-to-be former employee.

    Cons

There are several I noticed even though I've only worked for them for three weeks. There is zero communication, zero accountability, and zero training. I don't know how someone who makes the schedule messes up AM and PM (The location where I am at isn't open yet, but I was told I'd be working daytime hours prior to the opening.) I have almost a decade of merchandising experience, but I've never worked in a grocery store...

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate in English and keep your employees happy. I've read so much negative feedback on Facebook about the company and nothing ever gets done. Expired merchandise, customer service issues, and lack of respect toward employees are just a few examples.
