I worked at Weis Markets full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is reasonable. Never had many issues with employees. Breaks and days off reasonable.

    Cons

My manager did not care for me and was very poor at describing tasks. Customer is always right no matter how insane they are. At times pointless tasks are given.

I worked at Weis Markets part-time

    Pros

    At least it was local

    Cons

-did not work with my hours I'd be able to work and would keep me over if there was no one scheduled to take over my department.. which was an everyday occurrence due to 3 people and not a wide range of availability. - knowing we didn't have many people no one would hire another person for us. - everyday the front end manager would talk to be as if I was a bother and would scold me if I did one thing that was not up...

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Clean work environment, good coworkers, easy to set your own availability and get days off.

    Cons

Management has a high turnover rate which seems unusual, managers try to hardcore guilt you into coming in when you call off sick, front end is always freezing in the winter and they don't allow you to wear jackets or coats. No opportunities for advancement. If you start on the front end, you will never leave the front end. Hours & pay are mediocre but acceptable for high school students and maybe college freshmen....

    Advice to Management

Don't waste your time hiring incompetent high school students who can't work a computer, help out your employees when you schedule them into shifts they can't work, don't try to guilt someone who has the flu into coming into work. Don't blame the front end for having lines when you understaff them.

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some friendly employees and mildly friendly customers.

    Cons

(I won't give what store I was at, but I'm talking about the one I was at.) I started Weis almost 2 years ago, and I have regretted it ever since. The managers at Weis (store and department managers) never cared about their employees, the store managers were usually a-holes and were up your butt to get your work done when we were so short staffed it was almost impossible to get every single task done. The store managers...

    Cons

expected to work holidays and there's not a whole lot of Weis stores in Virginia, or as spread apart in Virginia, and there's none near Richmond, VA.

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than a year

    Pros

pleasant, friendly work, well lit, comfortable environment, clean, some flexibility with hours, starting pay 9$ hr. Great way to get to know your community! Easy work. Nice work. Safe. Great support system for problems at the register.

    Cons

I applied ONLY for advertised FULL-TIME positions, just before the holiday season, and was hired under that premise, although I was informed that it was a company-wide policy to only offer part-time for the first 3 months. I was told full time could begin after that. Durring my first 3 months I found out from other employees, that nobody there was full time, and when I addressed my concerns with the hiring manager...
