I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good management at location, good opportunities for different experience (working in different departments), offers good benefits for full time employees.

    Cons

Doesn’t offer vacation time if you’re a college student (working weekends during school semesters, all week every week all summer and winter), little to no benefits for part time, no union representation, if you’re a great worker you get to do other people’s job too and not get paid for it.

    Advice to Management

Offer better wages and better benefits to part time and student employees. $0.15 a year is not rewarding.

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Out of most pharmacies and supermarkets in the area, Weis is one of the better ones. The general demeanor of the regular employees there is wonderful and everyone is always looking out for each other. They have recently hired new store management, and it's rare to have a boss that feels like a friend and not feel like they're always flexing their power over you. However, they're different from the pharmacy management,...

    Cons

There's many things wrong with the Weis pharmacy, and I think anyone who works there or at the store in general should be aware of them before they apply, so here's a list: - The pharmacy management and managers are corrupt. They got caught stealing wages from employees. You would work X number of hours and they would go back into the log and change it so that you got paid for fewer hours. They resist giving raises...

    Advice to Management

Root out the corrupt management. At the very least, reform them. Give your best employees a reason to stay at this company and move away from the CVS approach. Otherwise, be prepared for the pharmacy to sink.

I worked at Weis Markets part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fast-paced work environment Some opportunities for advancement

    Cons

Difficult to negotiate raises Few full-time opportunities Extra work without extra pay Irregular hours/work schedule (typical of all retail)

    Advice to Management

Management does not do enough to retain good employees, either by offering raises or communicating appreciation verbally.

I have been working at Weis Markets part-time for more than a year

    Pros

pleasant, friendly work, well lit, comfortable environment, clean, some flexibility with hours, starting pay 9$ hr. Great way to get to know your community! Easy work. Nice work. Safe. Great support system for problems at the register.

    Cons

I applied ONLY for advertised FULL-TIME positions, just before the holiday season, and was hired under that premise, although I was informed that it was a company-wide policy to only offer part-time for the first 3 months. I was told full time could begin after that. Durring my first 3 months I found out from other employees, that...

Allow workers to keep water with them. Offer full time if you advertise full time.

        Pros

The discounts and some of the nice customers. It's retail it sucks . No one has a game plan but the discounts are nice to have for snacks.

        Cons

Bad management Over worked Bossy associates who are not your boss Lazy workers No training Food is always spoiled and out dated Complaint from customers I hop takes over the dairy refrigerator with carts shoved every where a trip hazard Bad management who doesn't care about family especially ones with a disabled person living with them for their care. Advice to Management

Train better. Be more patient. When you say something do it. Never lie about pay scales and hours. You promise 32 hours then promise it stop trying to add more hours you know ow someone doesn't want. Also paper work needs to be organized and done the same day instead of a few days later. I hop attendance are lazy by pushing carts in the middle of the refrigeration area and you fall over it while getting your freight...
