I worked at Wel Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Employer. Really treated me decent. Everyone was very nice.

    Cons

As with any OTR job not much home time. 1 day off for 6 on. It's the nature of the job, not their fault.

    Advice to Management

Keep treating your drivers as well as you treated me.

    Pros

The open door policy is great, but even with this nothing gets changed. Some co-workers are great.

    Cons

No bereavement leave (NEVER heard of a company not providing this), no sick days (only vacation time which there isn't much), basically no human resources department, low wages, open concept seating in the office so it's hard to concentrate. So much is negative I'm just glad I escaped.

    Advice to Management

This place a complete boys club. There are directer/managers that literally do nothing all day long and probably get paid more than 5 staff members who bust their butt all day for the company. This place is too top heavy. There does not need to be be a customer service manager and a customer service director to oversee 10 customer service employees. The human resources department is a joke. This needs to be completely gutted and get someone new in. All managers and team leads need training on how to be leaders. Wages need to be increased as well.

    Pros

Ceo and president seem like they want to take care of the drivers. Streering wheel holders will love this company!!

    Cons

Employees do not follow thru on Ceo and presidents values and beliefs, experienced drivers stay away from this company!!!

    Advice to Management

If u want safe experienced drivers, don't make ur experienced drivers starting out drive ur oldest trucks! If u belive in taking care of ur drivers like u say u do, make this clear to ur employees at ur terminals, and make ur corporate employees understand, when they promise something then follow through is everything!!!!

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with and a company that truly cares about the employees. Working there taught me a lot about the kind of company I most wanted to work in. Relaxed environment as long as you got your work done on time. No micromanaging.

    Cons

The pay could have been a little better. The hardest part of working there was the hours. They constantly changed. You knew when your day would start, but you didn't know when it would finish. Hard to schedule things with your family more than a week in advance because of schedule changes.

    Advice to Management

The company needs better communications between Terminals. Drivers need to know that they don't dictate policy in the terminals that they serve.
