I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Here at WellCare under the current Executive Leadership Team, I feel that they are taking WellCare to the next level. They care about the members they serve and the associates that do the day to day work. I've been in Healthcare over 25 years - I've worked in Hospitals, Hospices and small companies - WellCare is the best by far. The I.T. team I work with is the best group of people I have worked with in a long time. They care about each other and the success of the team. Our manager is such a good leader and wants to see us all succeed and become great leaders.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of any

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You start off with 20 days of PTO. You also get one company-paid day to volunteer at a partner organization within the community; this is a great way to give back. They also set up several volunteering events about once to twice a month on weekends for you to join in at and there are many employees that do. They are focused on growing the company and obtaining growth from internal promotions. They celebrate and reward employees on each team with $25 - $200 rewards, plus they have thrown company sponsored parties at Busch gardens and Game Time in the past two years. They often provide a lunch when it's cruch time and they have to ask employees to work a lot of overtime.

    Cons

Not all managers have the skill to grow thier employees and so sometime you may feel stuck in your position and like you'll never move up.
The company is constantly trying to grow, which means lots of changes always occuring and they still keep the pressure on the employees to keep with 100% production during the transition, which can be quit stressful. The plan for hurricane emergency was unclear to employees and made many feel as though they were not going to be paid if they didn't work while they were trying to evacuate thier homes. This was incredibly stressful and seemed deceptive.

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to see directors and above focus on building up thier direct reports and expose them to new skillsets so it will help them advance if they want to. There are some directors who are not engaging thier direct reports and not building them up, most likely due to lack of experience or mentoring for the director themself. I would like to see a mentorship program be built and functional. We have attempted to do this on a volunteer basis previosuly, but it never came to fruition.
I would also like a clear plan as to how we will get paid in the case of a natural disater, not have this disseminated to use after the disaster is already over.
I would also like to see the effort made to have one day a week or every other week be a "work from home" day for those employees who are doing well with the company, as this would help create a better work-life balance.

I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been working at WellCare since Nov 2011 and in the last many years I have seen the company grow both in size and ambition.
Also in the past couple years I have seen the Leadership team focus hugely on their employees be it the introduction of Awards/recognition or multiple events organized to recognize our hard work and dedication.
I am seeing the company evolve into being competitive both technologically and from the Business aspect with the other healthcare giants.
Couldn't have asked for a better place to be at.

    Cons

There are no cons that I have experienced in the past couple years

    Advice to Management

    keep up the great work.
