    Pros

Flexible work schedule, great team of benefit consultants and good pay. You will meet an array of people from all walks of life at your scheduled events.

    Cons

Very little training from market area and upper management will affect your numbers tremendously by placing you in areas that do not produce leads. The "events" are scheduled at places that include sitting outside at local stores like, Family Dollar, gas stations, convenience stores, etc. and sometimes may cause customers to assume you're not a professional. Be sure to know the LAW because you may be advised to do something illegal by upper management otherwise.

    Advice to Management

I would advise training new staff and being more supportive of the benefit consultants when asked for assistance. I would also like to see upper manager create an environment of positivity instead of trying to place fellow consultants in awkward situations that causes division and skepticism.

    I worked at WellCare full-time

    Pros

Great company with a lot of opportunities and good physic environment. Good benefits and concern about accommodations for employees. A lot of classes on line to train yourself.

    Cons

Salaries increases slow, around 3% annually. Need to concern yourself about a career because they encourage you to do it but won't help you unless you request it.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing people skills on supervisor and managers. Keep developing long term strategies but don't forget about the short term strategies.

    Pros

Great people and a great work/life balance. Company has huge potential to be the best in their industry. They should expand a little more on their portfolio with products and services.

    Cons

Their seems to be a negative stigma still in the community, especially with other competitors who think WellCare is the same company prior to their sanctions. I would suggest sending a marketing blast again to reassure members, businesses and future members that WellCare is a different company and new and improved.

    Pros

Facilities are good. Coworkers are great (for the most part). Employees get to work on a wide variety of software.

    Cons

Favoritism is rampant. Managers are chosen by upper management from their buddies without posting the position (as required by their employee manual). Managers regularly lie to their employees.

    Advice to Management

Follow the employee manual. Promote people into management from within the group. Reward people for going above and beyond their job duties.

I worked at WellCare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The compensation is competitive and fair. The bonus is pretty good. When the company does bad, you get nothing, even if your department met its goals.

    Cons

Long hours. You don't really get to practice pharmacy or be a leader. You are a paid gun to baby sit the call center employees. Most of the call center employees hate their jobs. The pharmacy leadership is archaic and has not effective. They manage up and treat reports like they do not need them. The turn over is high even amongst directors. You really don't get a great view of managed care pharmacist and are limited by the leadership and what they want you to learn or expose you to. To be successful, you need to march to the beat of their drums, do not have any thoughts of your own.

    Advice to Management

Look at the pharmacy department. The leadership needs to be revamped. The culture and morale are very low. The

I have been working at WellCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

WellCare has provided me with many opportunities for growth. In my four years with the company, I have moved into three different positions and have received competitive pay each time. I work a flexible schedule and taking time off is easy.

    Cons

There is a lack of proper training, resources, and communication throughout the company.

    Advice to Management

As long as you work hard, are resourceful and are willing to put in hours you can advance.

I worked at WellCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Time Flexibility. You are given the tools needed to succeed as a business owner even though you are a W2 employee. The monthly salary is fair and benefits are great. I truly learned a lot working with Wellcare as a Benefit Consultant offering no premium cost medical plans to needing clients gives you a sense of fulfillment.

    Cons

The Medicare Advantage provider network needs to be stronger. With more providers in the network Benefit Consultants will be able to close more enrollments.

    Advice to Management

    Trust more.
