    Pros

You will get terminated if you become sick or have a medical condition.

    Cons

They do not appreciate their employees. It is not a place to work if you are looking for a long term career.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees not your pockets.

    Pros

Pay was very generous for a sales representative in the cabinet industry. You are given a lot of freedom to run your territory as you see fit.

    Cons

Expense reimbursements can be slow. No vision insurance. Programs and products are geared toward a specific area of the country and it seems as if the management isn't willing at times to look at other areas of the country for ideas. Can sometimes abandon new ideas quickly if they don't work quickly.

    Advice to Management

Ask your sales reps what they see as needed for new programs when business needs to be jumpstarted. Get away from Alabama when looking for new ideas. Spend more time in the field outside the southeast. Deal with the "old boy" network that exists and is ignored.

I worked at Wellborn Cabinet full-time

    Pros

Training was very solid. The support I got from my coworkers and management was consistent.

    Cons

They are very strict. You only get two performance reviews within your first 90 ays. After that, you get no more reviews, so you son't know where you stand. They can fire you without consulting wth you on issues performance.

I worked at Wellborn Cabinet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are good at production based entry level semi-custom cabinetry. They consistently deliver cabinets on time and complete within a three week lead time. Many options are available. They spend a lot in marketing and generally offer all the trending products. They are very regimented and consistent. Paul Wellborn has grown the company and should be commended for his vision and skills within manufacturing.

    Cons

Wellborn is too rigid. They aren't flexible with their customers at all...they can't accomodate special requests and rarely offer programs to help partner with their customers. They have a program for product replacement that penalizes dealers more times than not. You can't make changes to orders minutes after confirming them...at all. Sales staff have to constantly say no to clients and can't really assist them when they have problems. Wellborn denies many warranty claims as warranty or quality control issues even when it's obvious. Sales management is lacking and there is a ton of turnover in the sales department

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible with customers. Trust your sales reps and give them the ability to make smart deals and business decisions. Especially give more power to regional managers to help customers with warranty issues or potential deals. Focus on what you do best at the Select and Premier Series. If you continue to build Estate, have an exclusive team to build and finish that product- customers demand better fit and finish at that pricepoint.
