I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will probably form tight bonds with some co-workers who deal with the same issues on a daily basis.

    Cons

Everything was about sales rather than customer service. I felt like I was being lied to and manipulated on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like humans. Treat customers like partners.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Wells Fargo as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Huge company to advance, all over the United States. Wish we had branches in Missouri. We changed from being a Store back to a Branch!

    Cons

Salary and yearly raises need to be more.
    Compensation you get more precipitation.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Put yourself in our shoes.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working as a Teller gave me some great leadership and customer relations skills. I was able to work with customers to ensure I met each of their needs and find ways to improve their financial services.

    Cons

Wells Fargo is a very heavily competitive environment that requires you to sell their products without being able to name them. For example, if I identified that a parent could setup a checking account for their teen, I would have to sell the value of the checking account to them without being able to directly say, "would you like to open a checking account for your teen." While I understood the logic behind this, I often felt that my abilities to work with a customer were limited due to the fact that I could not say the names of products. This, combined with a highly competitive environment, paved the way for a somewhat stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Find different ways to educate customers about your products. That will help to lessen the distrust they have towards financial institutions.

    Pros

I enjoyed working for WF bank( the company) Branch Managers changed a lot at this small branch, and therefore management styles were always changing.
Lots of product introduction was responsibility of Tellers for overall success of branch. Company offers many opportunities to grow with the company

    Cons

Small branch in a town of less than 900 and sales approach and service standards were required as if in a large population although scaled down slightly. Small branch stayed under the radar of some treatments of staff. Most staff just live with it rather than engage HR. Senior management too busy to micro manage branch difficulties. Branch Managers changed often- it was the jump off for a new to position manager.

    Pros

Fair pay, good hours, great coworkers!

    Cons

Processes/expectations from corporate change OFTEN. Customers are very, very, very difficult. The pressure to meet the sales quota is nearly crippling.

I worked at Wells Fargo (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, liked some of my fellow employees, and nice consistent hours.

    Cons

Poor Management, unrealistic sales expectations, stress from management about their sales goals not being met, and stress from crazy customers.

    Advice to Management

Be more realistic when it comes to the sales goals you put on your tellers. Be more aware of the location of the branch and make the sales goals more individualized.
