I worked at Wells Fargo part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay and the customers you meet. It has a good promotion structure so you can move up fast if you're good.

    Cons

The standards and regulations. They set you up to fail. I got fired due to something my manager did and didn't teach me.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to do your job.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This is an established company with a recognizable brand. They work hard in the community. The benefits package is great and time off is very generous.

    Cons

It is often hard to get internal promotions because people are picked for positions before they are even posted. There is a reorganization at least annually which means it takes effort to keep up. The culture you see in the media is not what life is really like. If you like a fast paced world and can keep up, you will be fine. If not, you will be flattened like a pancake.

    Advice to Management

Provide stability, equal pay for equal work, and create a hiring process that allows qualified candidates to actually be considered.

I worked at Wells Fargo (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for someone who doesn't hold a degree, good benefits, and PTO offered annually.

    Cons

There is a lot of micromanagement and favoritism in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees like people.

I worked at Wells Fargo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great, built long lasting relationships with customers, never bored, always work to do, great dress code

    Cons

Too much corruption, favoritism is out of control, branch management are the main source of the negativity and hostile working environment, overworking the employees and do not assist, unless you become a brown noser, you will have no chance of furthering your career, no bonus, no customer service incentive payout, you report your concerns to HR and nothing happens, and they always side with Management until EEOC gets involved

    Advice to Management

Make better decisions when hiring Branch and District Management, listen to the employees, and do more action, because there are alot of illegal acts that goes on in the branches, from Racial discrimination to retaliation to defamation to theft,etc...... Wells Fargo retention is sky high because of acts like these. If this continues, they will have more legal troubles.

I have been working at Wells Fargo (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are great, the pay I think is fair, corporate has been really appreciating the employees lately with goodies after all the bad publicity last year

    Cons

Constantly being observed by management for improvement. They will observe an entire session with customers and go over everything we need improvement on. Also want us to call every single customer we help the following day, 2 weeks out, and 2 months out. Overkill and annoying to customers

    Advice to Management

    None

Since the settlement the community bank has gone through changes that were needed but the many departments that relied on the community bank have struggled to adapt.

    Advice to Management

    Be transparent and over communicate.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Liberal PTO days, 4 weeks. Good benefits 401K matches 6%. Regular work hours rarely any overtime required. Average pay.

    Cons

Everything you read in the news is true. Managers pushed products. Blamed it on bankers and denied any involvement even though managers reviewed EVERY account opened. Type in WF mid session review on you tube. Poor recruitment, most anyone can qualify for banker position. They spend a year or 2 as banker and then promoted to branch mgrs. So many incompetent branch mgrs for the most part. Most have no college education. As a licensed producer, its difficult at times trying to partner and work with managers who are not top talent to say the least. New compensation plan pays way below industry peers. The only incentive left is .23 basis points paid on investments. Obliviously all the bad press and lawsuits make it difficult at times to build trust with customers.

    Advice to Management

Recruit better talent and hold mangement accountable. Focus more on recruiting and retaining top bankers. Improve the incentive plan to make it competitive with peers. The bankers have the relationship with customers and drive business. Yet most resources go into developing management.
