I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture here is phenomenal. The message is all about how the people make the difference and the company is very focused on developing employees.

The routines set in place to reinforce the behaviors are phenomenal. Resources available to leaders for improving coaching style are endless! They have even taken external leadership theories and incorporated those into the resources and training available.

Highly engaged and talented people work here, making it a great place to network and grow.

    Cons

Some systems are a bit antiquated, but to be honest I’d prefer that over flashy stuff that glitches out all the time.

Time off is not very competitive, and it doesn’t increase with positions that have more responsibility, it only increases with years worked at the company.

No fully comprehensive health plan, but they do offer a company funded HSA with one of the plans.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Parts of the benefits package, mainly the 401k with 6% match and option for board to increase that by 1-4% each year based on earnings but they never do more than 1%. PTO can grow rather quickly as tenure increases. Health package is at best adequate.

    Cons

Constantly hear negative news about your company... hard to defend.
    Little growth or development opportunities.
Currently going through an expense safe exercise called EE2020 that is a disaster for morale.
Everything from senior management is lip service. They call team members a competitive advantage but they do not value people that way. Merit increases are low so if you don’t start with a good base salary then you will soon be looking for a new role to increase your pay.
Disappointing that with all of the corporate tax savings the bank receives that none of it goes to the employees... instead they use it for stock buy backs and ship jobs overseas. It is probably the next negative headline for the bank.

    Advice to Management

Change out of ALL senior leadership; that’s the CEO and his direct reports. They have the stink of the sales scandal on them and the company needs a culture change. The company needs to make things right and get back credibility but that is not with the leaders in place.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Advancing was easy, benefits good, fun place to work

    Cons

Salary isn’t as competitive as other companies

    Advice to Management

Pay employees more when they have tenure. New hires shouldn’t make as much as veteran employees of similar educational background.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This company is everywhere. Works with your schedule and family life, great benefits and vacation time off.

    Cons

Inconsistenties with policies and procedures, makes it hard for customer, and can cause them to have a run around.

    Advice to Management

DM Help your district team members know how to improve their skills and grow with the company. Not all branches run smoothly, but because not everyone is on the same page of policy and procedures.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a major conglomerate, there is great training, plenty of opportunities to move up and out to different departments. Great working hours at this location, could choose, so I worked 7:30am to 4:00pm. Well-structured, assignments are clear. Relationship with management was good.

    Cons

While there are opportunities to move up and through the company, the process can be quite long, and internal hiring is not as easy as they make it seem when HR encourages such things in meetings. Efficiency of the tasks could also be improved, but at least they took our advice.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid time off, 401K, and good pay. Management feels organized, and there are absolutely no sales goals/referrals which creates a stress free environment.

    Cons

When sales goals were in place, the company was dreadful to work for. Now sales are eliminated but the drawbacks are cut in bonuses, and the attitude of the company is shifting into bureaucratic nonsense. Wells Fargo will be a different bank in 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Who even is the upper management?
