For someone who enjoys working with customers face-to-face, retail banking gives you great exposure from walk-ins. With just a little extra effort, customers will love you. While at WF I developed lots of fruitful relationships with clients.
Incredibly high turnover, including management in many branches. Very high sales goals for personal bankers, you will need to leverage your personal relationships to achieve these goals when you're just starting off.
Advice to Management
Spend some time thinking about what you want the culture of your branch to be. People these days care about culture, even in banking.
