I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty cool co-workers. I made several friendships.

    Cons

Abusive customers. As a phone rep, you are powerless to control the call volume or waiting time of the customer, and they take out their frustration on you.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive and understanding. Stop with the patronizing awards. Just be human and try your best to care.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

World-class development and a Culture of Caring that means more than just numbers. There are no shortage of leaders willing to help you learn, grow, and succeed.

    Cons

Fast-paced environment and changing focus. Company is dealing with a lot of change and has been in the negative spotlight due to our Settlement announcement in 2016.

    Advice to Management

With constant change come the need for superior communication. Better planning and communication in our current environment leads to better results and morale.

    Pros

    Predictability of work
Collegial relationships tended to be supportive

    Cons

    Meatgrinder
    Poor training
    High pressure to perform
Deal with a lot of negativity from leadership always pressing down on you to the clients who are often frustrated about negative things that have happened to them regarding money.
    I hated being there.

I have been working at Wells Fargo as a contractor

    Pros

It is a job. Nothing so exciting or spectacular.

    Cons

The environment, contract employees are treated terribly. The environment is very micro managed and all you hear about is AHT. The place is like a slave camp.

    Advice to Management

It does not even matter: why waste my time to say anything

I worked at Wells Fargo (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great Company if you score a position where there is no or reasonable sales goals - worked at one of their call centers back in the 90's for over 8 years

    Cons

Position where unrealistic sales and referral goals if not met will get you terminated if not meeting quota. Customer service comes second which is a shame since 90 percent of inbound calls are from the same 10 % of customer base every month. Geez I hate to call knowing associate is going to try and get me to apply for one of their other bank products. Lot of excellent employees are let go causing tremendous turnover and very costly to hire and train new employees.

    Advice to Management

Reward employees for Customer Service skills and bring down unrealistic sales and referral of your banking products. There is a lot more 'GAMING' going on and most supervisor and managers know it. They benefit from system also. The secret is to not get caught!!
