I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has superb benefits and promotes a work and Home life balance. With a vast amounts of expertise, there are many opportunities to learn new skills.

    Cons

With a lot of public scrutiny and spotlight as a leading financial services company, I often find myself needing to defend my employer with strangers in the supermarket.

I worked at Wells Fargo as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Covered parking, cafeteria on site, Free electric charging. Monday-Friday 8-5

    Cons

Call Center position. Strong emphasis on getting top scores on call script. Resources were difficult to use and answers hard to find.

    Advice to Management

Be more honest about the position when interviewing potential employees.

I have been working at Wells Fargo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They pay some positions very well.

    Cons

You are a number, that is all. Completely expandable and frequently used as scapegoats for the failures of the top brass.

    Advice to Management

You are an American company! Please, stop sending our data and employment to third world countries. Especially those who are notoriously known for tech scamming (and just about every other known scam in the world). Also, contractors should be used sparingly and as needed for individual projects, not as a primary workforce.

They are feverishly working on deep learning machines and AI in an attempt to minimize Full-time Employee (that's you!) costs. In addition, most of the positions that pay well are being moved over to India at Wells Fargo's Enterprise Global Services department. Upon very little digging you will find that they are paying supposed "engineers" a fraction of what they pay here in the states. In some cases 1/10th! You cannot find qualified and secured IT networking or security work for this price! Quite scary.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent Benefits, Pretty flexible, Great people

    Cons

Pushed sales over service and ethics

    Advice to Management

Spend more time understanding each employee and there strengths and weaknesses. Don't try and mold them in to what you think is the best employee.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get a paycheck weekly.

    Cons

Worked at the information security help desk. Ryan the trainer basically read to us for 3 weeks straight then on the phones. The low pay, high stress and amount of information needed to retain far out ways any benefits. Most people stay because they are lazy and don’t feel like looking elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

All other helpdesk analysts hired when I was spent months with class and hands on training. Get rid of the information security training structure and go the route of class with hands on. There will be more retention.

I worked at Wells Fargo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay when you work, that's about it.

    Cons

TL; DR- Avoid Wells Fargo IT.

Wells is misleading contractors about contract length just to get manpower to help with their emergency remediation efforts. They are promising greater than 6mos. but cutting you off under 3, once your share of the work is done. They are only doing very short term despite what they tell everyone. Promised 1 year, might make it 90 days.

2018- It appears with all the budget issues within WF thanks to all the lawsuits, they are cutting back on Contract IT employees. The only real contracts they have are for remediation of their internal processes (FED Action). Wells ONLY needs the people for very short term- extra labor to meet the time crunch imposed by the Fed adverse action.

IN SUMMARY- watch out, they are now promising a lot of money and long term contracts but then backing out once your share of remediation work is done. 1 year contracts are barely 90 days.

If there is no defined role, and the workload described doesn't seem heavy enough to justify the length of term claimed, the pay and title seem really high (for what the job is) and they say "future work this, future work that"- DON'T BUY IT. It will likely end once the immediate work is done. If no project plan is in place, RUN.

Every time Wells gets fined, project budgets get cut. The place is a sinking ship.

Also- they have now imposed a mandatory furlough dependent on length of contract, basically 5 days off for every 180 days worked. That of course, won't be mentioned

If you have any other options, I suggest staying away from Wells Fargo Chandler. Everything written here can easily be verified by a search.

    Advice to Management

Nothing I can say that you shouldn't have known (and you have definitely been fined for) already.
