I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay Potential is uncapped, mortgage market knowledge. You will learn more about mortgages and the industry working two weeks at WF than you would learn in your lifetime. Lifetime of knowledge working here.

    Cons

WF is so big they are unable to react to market changes as quickly as they need to. Rates tend to be higher which makes selling against the competition is harder. Commission structure outdated and not reflective of current market.

    Advice to Management

Recalibrate commission every three months, not when the market dictates a change

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    good OS for loan origination

    Cons

Poor management who play favorites, fired vets after active duty, can't stop getting fined by US Govt, treat their employees like numbers on a spreadsheet, long days, changing schedule

    Advice to Management

Pick qualified candidates for promotions and not your friend.

    Pros

Wells Fargo provides its' employees excellent benefits. I have had a lot of great and friendly coworkers there.

    Cons

It's remarkably difficult to advance within the company. They routinely hire from outside rather than promote from within. Education seems is completely irrelevant there.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The work life balance is good, with many paid days off. Matching 401K, health insurance is affordable, 1% profit sharing the last two years.

    Cons

Your salary upon entry will dictate what you make for many years to come. Yearly raises are often capped at 2% with many people receiving less than that. There is not a lot of respect for employees in my experience. Any suggestions or complaints are met with indifference by management. If you bring up disappointment in compensation you are told you are more than welcome to look for a new position inside or outside of WF. This is the same for people who have been with the company 15+ years.

    Advice to Management

Don't mislead employees that there are better days ahead regarding compensation, this practice causes people to invest years with a company for no personal gain and is beyond misleading.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

you get paid. like not what you are supposed to get paid, and don't expect your bonuses the way they say you will get them... but yeah, you do get a pay check.

    Cons

everything. all of it. from being forced to ly to customers, to be lied to yourself by management. From unreasonable sales metrics, to being asked to stay late with out pay to open accounts your not legally allowed to.

    Advice to Management

Stop breaking the law and you would have do many people suing WF.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Variety of employee benefits, flexible shifts, and enough paid time off. Overtime available. Variety of projects during the slow season to allow for learning of new skills that may peak interest in new career outlooks.

    Cons

Extremely hard to make career advancement especially within your department (it's been recommended to transfer out of the department then after a year in your new role try to transfer back into your desired position). interviewing process is excruciatingly frustrating and I've seen so many flopped interviews; People who have no business being in a leading role being handed the position while those that have the leading skill but didn't acquire the job are forced to pick up the slack of the inexperienced. The yearly pay raise is a joke; Like $0.10 if your lucky but it's a cost center so it's to be expected. They just got rid of the bonus program due to the recent scandal over opening false accounts. Unfair wages- 2years of being a top producer only to be paid the same as a new hire who got full time yesterday.

    Advice to Management

Stop giving out participation awards to those that don't deserve recognition and really start paying attention to the ones that have gone above and beyond their roles. Reformat your interviewing process and training. Force an establishment if authority. Yes everyone can be a leader if need but there needs to be a chain of command. Use the intermediaries such as the work directors for training sources instead of experienced processors who don't get compensation for training. In their roles as directors, they should have a tested and experienced understanding of how to process and as of late the responsibility of training has been moved to experienced processors which has given work directors less work but also less credibility among processors.
