I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I liked the people I worked with.....that is the only Pro

    Cons

You make $12/hour guaranteed for your first 3 months then you are fully commission so you get that same $12/hour as a draw against whatever you make, so essentially you better make at least 2 grand a month in commission or you will be in the infamous "hole" and you will never get out. This is not a good job or career for a young college grad with no sales experience or mortgage experience. Also, real estate agents and other related professional services absolutely hate Wells Fargo and other big banks.

    Advice to Management

You need to change your commission structure if you expect to get any young employees.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good pay, nice physical environment

    Cons

Too much stress, like high school the cliques abound, its not how great you work its who you know.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your Team Leaders are doing. They frequently belittle and harass the employees. If you want advancement, you need the in crowd to support you. I've seen employees that should have been fired for tardiness promoted into the management program. Too much pressure on associates. Management only cares about the numbers, and the employees are expendable.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Always busy, never finding something to do.

    Cons

More people to report to than actually hired by. Everyone, including the clerical staff are demanding things from you. The place is run by minions that have no aspirations in life except to get to 4:30pm to leave. They don’t care about customers nor if we screw up their lives.

The something to do is typically an unproductive internal procedure that satisfies the need of a compliance or clerk.

    Advice to Management

Let bankers be bankers and management should help with getting deals done instead of making it a teaching moment
