I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great benefits, great corporate leadership. Nice 401k match, good benefit options. Good opportunity for advancement. Our region has experienced a major philosophy adjustment focusing on customer experience and lowering the sales goals and pressure. Nice bonus opportunities.

    Cons

Retail banking sales culture. Regional and district management focused on ineffective cold calling methods. Long workdays and full Saturday workdays. Bonuses are achieved only by meeting all metrics, not paid if you excel in certain categories but not others. This presents a real challenge if your position is located in a rural area or low income area.

    Advice to Management

Pay bonuses to performers without the complicated equation. While it is meant to develop well rounded bankers, it does not reflect the local realities and economy. Thank you for stepping back on the widget pushing and promoting unethical behaviors.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great upward mobility, company promotes from within, work culture committed to teamwork and success

    Cons

Very heavy emphasis on sales, even to the point of pushing customers in unwise directions. Management has unrealistic goals and tends to micromanage staff.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the teller line, they bear the brunt of customers' negativity, and they can and will work their way up in the corporate structure.
