I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The compensation plan was pretty amazing. The personal banker had a great base salary in an area where cost of living is low.

    Cons

The incentive plan was extremely difficult to get paid out (especially at the higher levels. The management team is terrible. District manager was very micromanaging and required conference calls multiple times throughout the day (despite the traffic in the branches). When we were without a store manager for months, as a personal banker, I had to step up and partake in all of these conference calls without the additional pay or credit (and it affected my bonuses severely).

    Advice to Management

Back off and let your store managers do their job. If you focus on building TRUE relationships with your customers and allow your bankers to build better relationships with business partners, the company will grow and morale will go up.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

benefits are great, pay is decent, vacation time is really good. The computer systems are fairly easy to learn. Most co workers are friendly and easy to get along with

    Cons

too much focus on sales, promotion based only on sales and who you are friends with, too much stress. Power struggles seem to take place on a regular basis between tellers, lead tellers, and service managers. Tend to only hire part time tellers with no benefits

    Advice to Management

Focus more on customers and less on pushing products
pay attention to retaliation that comes from reporting a member of management to HR
Don't punish and fire employees for following policies on overriding checks and deposits
Stop charging so many fees if you want to retain customers
Quit promoting solely on sales and who you know
