I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Extremely competitive jumbo rates with interest only options.

    Cons

Lack of vision, rigid underwriting practices, cheap and overly compliant.

    Advice to Management

Reward and celebrate your employees in tangible ways and focus more on what our customers want and need because if we don’t our competitors are.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are not Pros to working for this company.

    Cons

Training is horrible, management are all "yes" folks, there are too many layers of management so nothing gets done. No accountability...processors and underwriters takes weeks to respond.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to actually manage.....listen and act on feedback

    I worked at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Great insurance benefits, time off on the weekends.

    Cons

I was not told what the salary was, or the bonus structure until the 1st day of training. They make it seem like it is easy for you to hit bonuses, however it is not. Processing literally will not work a file. They have all of 7 processors assigned to 25 Mortgage Consultants, and the processors are heavily over worked. Processing works from 5am-2pm, and mortgage bankers are not scheduled until 8 so the whole afternoon...

    Advice to Management

Stop the whole buddy system to get on the Home Team, and the ability to do jumbo loans. Hole processing accountable for missing close dates and do more to work for your bankers rather than play the blame game, and push us to open more bank accounts for customers without them knowing. Management is ALWAYS gone in meetings. Literally, it was like lord of the flies. We were all on our own and had to figure it out by ourselves....

    I worked at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Bank hours and not that stressful, team members are nice to work with, variety of products to offer, good starting point for someone that is starting their career.

    Cons

Corporate BS, unfortunately they dont focus on what matters "people" the processing side of things is poor, very long processing time 60-90 days.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your team members and in turn they will take care of your clients.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 19 years

      Pros

great brand, strong marketing, lots of customers to assist, has better integrity and honesty than most other large banks (but that is not saying much).

      Cons

poor and disconnected management. Most managers have no idea what is happening on the front lines, they are focused on reports/cross sells etc...and have no idea what their team needs to be successful. Pay/bonuses/benefits continue to decline every year, while micromanagement and monitoring all you do goes up. They continue to layoff people to have a more "lean" workforce, but this just equals more work for less pay...

      Advice to Management

focus on retaining work force and don't be afraid to invest in them, its not an encouraging feeling when you receive the company news letter that Wells Fargo has earned another quarter of highest revenue (for the 8th straight qtr) in company history and then immediately after you get called into a room with your team to hear that they are cutting your pay and asking you to do more.
