I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Quality people with a collaborative attitude
Outstanding footprint in the US, ability to get in to see almost any client

    Cons

Difficult and time consuming to get changes implemented to adapt to market conditions

    Advice to Management

Many employees outside of the Community Bank felt betrayed by the account scandal; culture change needs reinforcement internally as well as externally

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Onboarding, employees, benefits, salary, location, workplace atmosphere, value on employee volunteering

    Cons

Overall company could stay out the news for various customer issues

    Advice to Management

None as yet, as my management has been good thus far.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to begin or end a career in IB
Strong reputation and a real player in capital markets
Balance sheet gets foot in the door with leading companies
Pay is in line with the street

    Cons

Primarily U.S. focused and very risk averse which limits the types of transactions you'll work on
M&A platform needs to start pulling its weight (top 10 on the U.S. league tables in every other product)
Like other firms, politics can be a challenge and there are a handful of VP/Directors who will ruin your experience if you're placed in the wrong group

    Advice to Management

Figure out whether you really want to be in the business and act accordingly. Not participating in half the market (international / Fin Sponsor deals) isn't a long term strategy to move up the league tables

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is good (especially in Charlotte), people are cool and approachable. Hours in some groups are reasonable. Exit opportunities are good for a middle market bank.

    Cons

Bank is very conservative so you won't be on any eye-popping deals. Hours in certain groups can be long. Some groups do not recognize performance as well as they could.

    Advice to Management

    Be more aggressive with lending

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

its a big company so benefits are good

    Cons

zero work life balance is an understatement, poor upper management in the northeast, no coaching and development, once you become a branch manager its next to impossible to do anything else, unrealistic sales goals, zero support, unsafe environment at times and upper management just expects you to handle it alone as a manager (bedbugs, violent and angry customers, or robberies)

    Advice to Management

re vamp east coast upper management structure, they were from wachovia days and are antiquated and not smart business wise. Security upgrades, training upgrades, and don't work people like slaves its unhealthy
