I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to learn a lot about the banking world! Meet a lot of people! The promotions are fast as long as you earn them. No sales goals! Solely customer service based. Most branches work together really well as a team.

    Cons

The micromanagement has to be the number one problem with Wells Fargo! They place you under a scope and observe your transactions constantly. The worst part is that as perfect as a transaction can go. The observation form forces them to give an “area of improvement”. Which in turn becomes the only important thing on the observation.
Most branches are never fully staffed.
A lot of corporate ideas are forced on you that are supposed to guide your transaction but truly does not help in any way and makes you sound like a robot.
Meetings make employees feel like there being brainwashed and forced ideas of the company.
SURVEYS THAT CLIENTS TAKE LITERALLY DICTACTE YOUR LIFE. A pissed off client can give a “bad shop” and ruin payout. If we don’t get all perfect scores then the branch goes through a meltdown. It’s supposed to show how well we do as a branch yet clients are randomly selected to take the survey. Which actually means it is in no way a representation of the branch. Audit season is so stressful....

    Advice to Management

Please don’t force management to enforce corporate ideologies from people who have not worked hands on with real clients in the field for years. Times have changed and no real human client cares for kissing up to them. Learning to truly care for people to help them achieve their goals is what allows me to win in the long run with clients. Change how you oversee the branch level customer service aspect.

    Pros

Great pay and benefits and there was a lot of opportunity to climb the corporate ladder there. I also enjoyed all the celebrations and getting rewarded for good work.

    Cons

Stressful sales goals made it a bad work environment. I felt the tension everyday. My manager had conference calls everyday just to explain what we were to doing to meet goals when we didn’t meet the sales goals.

    Advice to Management

People are humans and not numbers. Stop treating employees like they are disposable.
