I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Wells Fargo hasd very advanced systems that made my job easier, from sales tracking to CRM, they have invested a lot of money in their systems and it shows!

    Cons

VERY sales driven on the retail level, although there was job security, some of the sales tactics managers made me use where both unethical and borderline illegal.

    Advice to Management

Although management says they want to understand their individual bankers' career goals, they dont! Managament may hinder your movement within the company if it does not line up with their plans for you. Also, every year we receive the company ethics quidelines, however rarely do managers care about the ethics side of sales. Do what you can to get that checking account and credit card!

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Overall the company has a lot of opportunities, and they do promote from within. There are a lot of professionals within the company such as business partners (Mortgage, FA's, Insurance, Business etc) that are great to work with. Some of them have been doing this for a long time and you can learn a lot from them if this is your chosen career path. You will meet a lot of great professionals. The only reason I...

    Cons

Unfortunately, if you are in a sales/retail job, moving up or being recognized greatly depends on your numbers. Your numbers depend on your location, and the type of management you're under. If you get 'dealt a bad hand', you will have a very hard time reaching goals and getting a promotion. If you have bad management, you will never truly learn the job and it can be a carousel of coworkers because of the very high...

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Continuous advancement, caring management, various career paths, recognition. I was hired last year in May as a part-time teller and have already been promoted two times --it's pretty great for my first job out of high school. If you're sales-minded, energetic, and extremely motivated to be the very best, this is the perfect company for you.

    Cons

    The pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

Let's go back to the Wachovia payscale!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Name Recognition is the best in the financial industry. Products are decent but no real niche to set them apart. Work w Bank Branches.

    Cons

The Managers take all of the good sources of business in the area (bank branches and other line of business referrals). They also re-allign branch assignments to work in their favor. The mortgage Consultants fight over the scraps. The manager build teams w Junior MC's and Assistants. The rest do not get that opportunity. Managers do not manage or help build your business. Processing is not good at all. There are...

    Advice to Management

Take care of the Mortgage Consultant. They make your world go around, not the managers. Make the managers work for their overrides. Survey your employees, none are happy. Managers should not be producers.
