I have been working at Wells Fargo (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits (but cost creeping up and coverage creeping down each year), Good Morale Both Management and Coworkers, and Honestly a Great Company.

    Cons

Cross Selling is the only focus now, firing employees who are great at their job in every area that should matter but if the cross selling results are not meeting the ever ridiculous quota (which continues to rise) than you may not have a job next month. Expectation for customers to say yes to cross selling, leaving you with no real control of your job security. Stress!

    Advice to Management

Cross sell expectations are going to destroy the customers experience after all tenured employees are fired. All that will be left are employees that cross sell and could not resolve a true complex issue.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People & management of immediate work group, work-life balance, stock purchase plan, 6% 401k matching, learning & development opportunities, many long-term employees, flexibility, medical & dental benefits, family-friendly, very generous leave & vacation time

    Cons

Ethics & management at high level, lower compensation/salary than other companies, no/minimal raises & bonuses for high-performing long term employees

    Advice to Management

Upper management ruined WF reputation by acting illegally, causing culture & morale to decline and reduced bonuses for everyone. Lower level employees suffered the most.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Well established, deeply rooted in the community, financial institution. Great benefits if you're an employe who has several years with the company. Good 401k match. Locations across the country allow for relocation opportunities. Flexibility if you can get it (see cons for clarification). Variety of positions allow you to move within the company and build your skill set.

    Cons

Managers tend to manage up better than managing down (or finding a balance). Telecommuting is at manager's discretion and not group wide which can create resentment between team members who have flexibility and those who don't. Company tends to be reactionary instead of proactive.

I worked at Wells Fargo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team - assigned one "inflight" project and managed with regulatory and compliance EOY deliverables. Sucessfully implemented the project /packages. Great team, great business partnership and application development.

    Cons

Timing of tenure - four Executives retired and Direct HR Managers were tasked to release contractor for FTE fullfilment.

Not enough time to fully engage with all resources within the PMO IT units assigned.

    Advice to Management

Remove various levels of "direct contact with resources - ie FTE or contractors to be able to refer for open requisitions.

    Pros

Great experience and learning, Ok hours (relative to industry), A lot of exit opps (though none to buy side but to other areas)

    Cons

not really a con, but outsiders perceived inferiority of corporate bankers compared to IB.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the idiot high school grads in the branches ruin the reputation of this great company. I love and take great pride in working for Wells Fargo, and will a degree form a great school, im pretty pissed that a bunch of idiots working in retail are ruining the public perception of Wells Fargo.
