I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits/meeting clients and building relationships/ making a difference by asking questions and sharing knowledge. Consistent schedule. Working for a well established bank.

    Cons

No ability to perform complex job roles. Even if you want to make a difference you're held back by management and beyond management. Being vocal and pointing issues out that would benefit the company but aren't in line with the agenda of management is frowned upon.

    Advice to Management

Be bold enough to stand up for your employees. Be bold enough to want the best and fight for it. Don't just be a puppet.

    Pros

Employee benefits. College reimbursement. Banking hours were amazing too. Off Sunday.

    Cons

Management. Company morals. Hourly pay for amount of work they expect.

    Advice to Management

Management is only promoted to position not because they have leadership qualities or capabilities, only because they have been "heavy hitters" and "bangers" with their monthly sales quote. Just because they were capable of selling, does not mean they are capable of leading a store. I had the worst manager while working for this company. Forced me to do sketchy stuff just to get sales. She was young and disrespectful also.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You meet good friends, great PTO time, benefits. I have met many interesting customers as well being a banker and some also become friends. They want you to build "relationships" with customers so that is also good. The company is almost in every state so it it easier to move to another city or state even.

    Cons

Very sales aggressive which stresses the team out. High sales goals and upper management pressures the bankers and tellers.. You can be MICRO managed at some branches. Getting promoted is not about "what you know" its all about "who you know"

    Advice to Management

Not retail store management but higher ups like DM and Regional Presidents and above hopefully can lower such high sales goals. Customers dont like being pushed so much.

I worked at Wells Fargo part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall I think this company is good to work for because it can give you many opportunities to grow if you are willing and able to take them. I worked as a Teller for 3 years total, with a break in between for 4 years for college, and have seen people "move up the ladder", typically being a Banker in less than 1 year. Job as a Teller is relatively simple considering your 3 main tasks of Customer Service, Sales/Referrals, and Balancing, but does not come without some stress. Anyway, here are the Pros. Bonuses, if you exceed your Sales goals which is not that hard since there will be times when Bankers will help you sell which is nice. Good pay, I think typical for a Teller is around $12.50, which isn't bad since most are Part-time and the job is pretty simple. Hours, part-time is the standard for new Tellers averaging 20-30 hours a week and a 9-5 job. Generally fun people to work with, although there are those people that either have an attitude or power trip. Sundays you have off, unless you work in an In-Store like Albertson's or Vons or something. Main holidays off and paid for. Managers will help you move up if you show an interest. 401K.

    Cons

Customer service is hard sometimes since most people wanna be in and out with little interaction which can be difficult since you need to give Perfect customer service. Wells Fargo only accepts perfect customer service and will count against you if you don't give perfect service. They pay a third party to conduct random surveys of customers on Tellers and if they don't give you all "5's" then it might as well be useless. This makes Tellers a little on edge.
A lot of gossip can go on since there isn't any personal space.
Can be difficult to meet your sales goals if you're not constantly asking people for new accounts.
Mangers and Lead Teller are grading you on your interactions with customers.
Hard to multi-task if you're focused on balancing, sales, and customer service all at once with the expectation to have the customer in and out.
Rules seem to change every so often with regard to either procedure or customer interaction

    Advice to Management

Try your best to stop the constant gossip going on, it only breads an atmosphere of suspicion and mistrust.
