I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great company and culture. Stable and not known for over hiring like the rest of the Street. Capital Markets division is growing tremendously so will always be a major competitor and thus have future opportunities.

    Cons

The Capital Markets division is very difficult to move up in, unless you relocate to the headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

    Advice to Management

Provide better feedback and opportunities to grow within the capital markets division.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

At WFA in the securities side as long as you worked hard at client satisfaction and broker backup you were respected for your efforts.

    Cons

The many deadlines and security industry policies required strict adherence so a bit stressful.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Can make decent income IF you work with a broker willing to compensate you a % out of their own commission.

    Cons

Low salaries, poor interview process with managers following a pre formatted set of questions, and very poor management because again, they don't want to pay a decent wage for talent.

    Advice to Management

Elizabeth Warren summed it up when she told John Stumpf that he and his executives demonstrated "gutless leadership ". And much like a dead fish, a bad company stinks from the head on down.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Company match for 401k is 6% - much better than average. Prestigious name, and lots of access to the banks customer base.

    Cons

Many of the negatives about this company come from problems with the Wells Fargo merger, and also having too many levels of hierarchy. Commission for Financial Advisors is competetive, but the commission paid out to in-branch Sales Assistants is far below average.

    Advice to Management

There is no need to have 5 levels of management before you reach the regional manager!

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Great work atmosphere. Extensive product offerings. Teamwork encouraged between brokerage and bank employees to more fully meet every customers financial services needs.

    Cons

Little encouragement given for moving into more responsible and higher paying positions. Unless you work with an FA who is as driven to succeed as you are, you will constantly feel like you're spinning your wheels and it will be next to impossible to increase your income.

    Advice to Management

Clearly communicate to all producing employees what possible career paths are available so that when one is interested in moving forward you're not in the dark about those possibilities.
