I worked at Wells Fargo (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment and people were great. The job details were very reasonable and I was always made to feel a valued member of the team by both managers and customers.

    Cons

My immediate manager seemed to be unable to effectively manage her team and resulted in having a lot of long term employees leaving under her tenure.

    Advice to Management

Remember your staff has lives outside of work and that we need time to take care of ourselves.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large, stable company. Excellent company with all of the corporate perks. Many opportunities in a variety of professional settings. Recommended both for entry level as well as executive level.

    Cons

Political headwinds. Lots of upper management turnover and staffing changes are causing a great deal of uncertainty among the employees.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only benefit of this position was the company benefits. Dental, 401k, vision, health, pto... BUT this does not excuse how horribly structured this job is.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations. I thought the pay was generous at first, and then after a month of training I was thrown to the wolves with a manager that did not want to see anyone that wouldn’t flirt with him succeed. Very high turnover, I had 3 managers during my 1 year in this job. You are expected to take inbound calls all day (“new leads” from the collections department) and discuss options to avoid foreclosure. If a customer wants to apply, you do an hour long interview, and tell them what income documents you need to submit them to underwriting, then the clock starts and you are expected to get them back within 30 days and they track this statistic. After you have all documents, you send them to underwriting, once a decision is reached you relay it to customer, and work with them until program is complete. Many calls are monitored and graded and they have VERY VERY STRICT guidelines on what they want you to say and scripts to read. So you take inbound calls and also have your own pipeline of 150-300 customers to juggle. The customers are typically going through a very difficult financial hardship and being empathetic to everything is expected. You are expected to do the jobs of other departments but aren’t paid for it. People messed up REAL CUSTOMERS accounts and then you would always have to fix it, which the mistake should not happen in the first place. This job was an absolutely awful experience. Management, greedy corporate values, terrible training, too many responsibilities/expectations, and other people’s mistakes made this job unmanageable.

    Advice to Management

Top corporate executives for the department should definitely sit with an average single frontline hps representative for a week each year to see what we actually do. Your manager 1’s even have no clue.

    Pros

The company incorporates a team environment and it seemed that everyone from the supervisors to my coworkers were always willing to help. The training process was legit as well and did help prepare for the actual job itself.

    Cons

Way too much focus on handle time. Mistakes were bound to happen when the bankers felt rushed.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on QA and Customer Satisfaction and less on handle time.
