I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People & management of immediate work group, work-life balance, stock purchase plan, 6% 401k matching, learning & development opportunities, many long-term employees, flexibility, medical & dental benefits, family-friendly, very generous leave & vacation time

    Cons

Ethics & management at high level, lower compensation/salary than other companies, no/minimal raises & bonuses for high-performing long term employees

    Advice to Management

Upper management ruined WF reputation by acting illegally, causing culture & morale to decline and reduced bonuses for everyone. Lower level employees suffered the most.

I have been working at Wells Fargo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Inclusiveness, flexibility, autonomy, support, and opportunity.

    Cons

Rigid structure, lower pay than expected, no sign of being converted from a contract to full time employment.

    Advice to Management

Pay a bit more to reflect the area people work in (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area). Encourage division/department/floor social interactions with more team or cross-team building events.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits, good projects, lot of different groups, some opportunities, good brand, opportunities to take training, lot of senior folks to get advice

    Cons

Very big company, can feel lost, less opportunities for growth, too many senior managers who talk but don't work, not easy to implement change, products are complex

    Advice to Management

Hire more people who work and not just people at higher levels

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great job availability all over the US, decent support for employees beyond the immediate job role, wide variety of jobs

    Cons

Hard to move up, easy to be stunted by a poor manager, difficult to actually connect with all the opportunities the company has, lots of opportunities to grow require an exceptional amount of self-driven work, I don't expect anything to be just given to me, but it is nice to be supported when taking those challenges on

    Advice to Management

Invest in your lower-level employees, we see everything going to management and realize that we'll have to go elsewhere to find that kind of support

I worked at Wells Fargo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The teamwork is incredible. In the group I was in everyone contributed and participated. There was great participation in meetings. And in addition there was solid participation in software planning from corporate. There were strong agile influences including well defined test driven development methods. The organization is highly matrix-driven with health participation from the PMO.

It was an incredible opportunity to work with a complete SOA environment. Most older brick-and-morter companies in the area started out long ago with some mainframe system. This company did a complete modernization from a mainframe centric environment into service oriented archtecture with SAML on the front end sophisticated and well-thought out messaging APIs on the backend. It was a pleasure to work there.

    Cons

The limitation on contract duration though somewhat flexible made it impossible to stay there. This is a common practice and I believe a somewhat wasteful one. It takes some time to become an expert on a project and that is then thrown away.
