I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits and plenty of Paid Time Off

    Cons

Things are constantly changing. Management is inconsistent. Bankers barely make more than part time Tellers.

    Advice to Management

The hiring process takes at least a month, which is too long. There isn’t a lot of room for career growth on the Retail side.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great training amazing benefits great partnership opportunities

    Cons

No room for growth, very political, who you know will get you ahead not hard work, compensation sucks compared to what it was you don't get paid for hard work being put in.

    Advice to Management

Take in consideration those that want to be promoted instead of offering growth to those that haven't excelled in their current role

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, pay and career path. Possibilities are endless as WFC is pretty much across the country, and contrary to popular believes, the corporate culture at WF is great.

    Cons

As you probably have heard WF used to have very aggressive sales goals. Now that they are under new management, they probably will change their way of doing things, but that may take a while and create a sense of instability if you join the company now.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and make them feel valuable and never even hint of breaking any moral values or corporate ethics. My managers never did, but unfortunately there were some cases in the comopany.

I worked at Wells Fargo for more than 5 years

    Pros

Plenty of press and brand recognition.

    Cons

A terrible company. Everything is about the bottom dollar, just jam clients into accounts, 5 conference calls a day about sales goals, every hour and 45 min wanting to know where you were on your goal and what you were going to do to exceed it? Telling Manager on your sales spreadsheet how many accounts, loans, "sticky products" you've managed to convince people to get.

    Advice to Management

The soul of this company is evil. Everyone in management positions sell their soul and slowly work their way up the ladder. They hire as many number counters as they can fit in each "store" do you can beg people or even your own friends and family to open another account. They're were bankers in the Rye New York area making 25-50k a month by selling Heloc's and having the customer use the full amount for the first 96 days then pay it off, also churning accounts for 96 days was a big way to make $ . During the checking account specials they'd offer New client $100 to open package bonuses, some bankers netted $75-$90,000 a month During those specials. Greed, make money, charge crazy overdraft fees no matter what then pretend you care about your clients. I saw people with $1200 in overdraft charges A DAY! Every .01 charge costed them $35. Literally had to help one guy who had $1,535 in ODIN fees on a holiday weekend.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay. good benefits, enough time off, a lot of opportunity to learn, great experience.

    Cons

Micromanagement. the sales are the main focus. Some people get promoted without the right qualifications for the job.

    Advice to Management

Talent retention is huge!! if someone says that they want to do something in the company they should be supported to reach their goals. A satisfied employee will always be more productive than someone that is not fully engaged on their current role.

I have been working at Wells Fargo

    Pros

Safe, strong, big, lots of advancement opportunities, well known, locations throughout the country, well known and respected brand, experienced senior leadership

    Cons

Horrible work/life balance and employees are underpaid for the work they do. The pressure to perform causes people to do things they shouldn't do and risks customer service.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider the incentive metrics and what is important, such as pack percentage. Bankers are constantly gaming the system in order to keep district managers and above off their backs. Employees have families and call nights should not be punitive.
