    Pros

it's a paying job. regular benefits such as health insurance.

Micromanaging to the extreme, role playing, reports for everything. No room for growth. The Bankers who didn't get caught for opening bogus accounts are now managers.
    -no work life balance
    -still can't trust HR.

I worked at Wells Fargo (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at Wells always opened doors and allowed for initial time to engagement with a client to be shorter than at most other smaller banks. It also had many services to be offered to help circle the client with many value add options.

    Cons

The company is too big to be nimble or creative at the local level and decisions, sometimes even small ones, are seemingly made by folks with no direct interaction with the situation.

    Advice to Management

Understand employee chemistry and long term potential and do not manage to the quarter. Many good people are dismissed for the numbers, without regard of how they are attained.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, you can meet some really good people.

    Cons

40-60 loan files to manage, Managers having nothing to do all day but email you on what has not been done never rolling up there sleeves to give a helping hand. Reports after reports and all they will talk about is there bonus if the team is not staying on top of all the time measurements. Good company just stay away from the mortgage division.

    Advice to Management

Pull up you sleeves and give a helping hand to your team. It does not hurt for a manager to make a welcome call or a needs condition call.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Wholesale U. has programs for career development. Not many banks offer formal credit training anymore.

    Good benefits and work/life balance

    Cons

You would think promotions are based on achievements. However, in the division I was in, promotions were based on politics.

Middle level management has their own agenda and is not good at communication

5 years after the merger there still exists the Wachovia/Wells Fargo- us vs. them culture

    Advice to Management

When the team is continually losing, the first to go is the manager, not the employees. Management needs to bring in managers that motivate and inspire, not ones that are administrators and just manage a P&L.

Senior management needs to work to eliminate the Wachovia/Wells Fargo- us vs. them culture.

Too much focus on internal politics-BS and not enough focus on the customers.
