I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - The goal of the organization is to help consumers and businesses succeed financially, and this is something that employees can feel proud of.

    Cons

    - The marketing organization has shifted over the past 3 years - it is now extremely process oriented. As a result, all programs, projects and campaigns take 3 times longer than they used to. The "process" is extremely inflexible and inefficient. - Continuous layoffs in marketing has lead to poor work/life balance as the work of those leaving is given to others who already have more work than they can handle. And often the work that is transitioning to the employees that remain is higher level work, however, there are no changes to compensation or job levels. - Constant changes in marketing processes and systems have created a lot of confusion within the marketing organization - ask 5 different people a simple question about one of the process steps and you'll get 5 different answers. - Due to the scandals over the last few years, risk, compliance and legal reviews are extremely challenging making it all that more difficult to get the work done. This coupled with all the process makes it extremely challenging to find joy in your work at WF, and makes you feel as though you are set up to fail.

    Advice to Management

The marketing organization has shifted too far towards centralization and being process-driven. Executive leadership needs to revisit what they've done, better understand the impacts that their changes have had on employees and the company, and fix some things, e.g. find ways to streamline some of the processes they've put in place.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The company is built to last a long time. Founded in 1852. Will be here for a long time. Great at working to build a cohesive culture. Great work in the community.

    Cons

Well-publicized mistakes make it difficult to gain traction in the marketplace. A lot of team members don't like to acknowledge where they work.

    Advice to Management

Keep making changes to ensure no mistakes are made in the future.
