I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Multiple locations in several cities means it's a good chance you could get a job close to home.

    Cons

The corporate culture is still so messed up. You would think the recent sales scandal would force the sales culture to change internally, but it has just gotten worse. I spent close to 20 years with this company and each year the sales pressure got harder and harder. The retail arm of the bank got rid of sales goals but the commercial and business banking group's goals got hard...

    Advice to Management

I know you are being forced to reduce costs. Why don't you treat people like adults and do a standard layoff instead of your tactic of making managers pressure employees with daily/weekly "coachings" in order to make them miserable so they quit on their own targeting people close to retirement so that you do not have to pay out pensions? I do not know how executive management sleeps at night knowing they are mentally...

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Paid Time Off, bereavement, paid time off due to weather, set schedules, volunteer hours.

    Cons

Sales pressure, incompetent management, rude customers, accusations, potential to be robbed

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who you are hiring. A lot of the people you have in management position are extremely incompetent.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time

    Pros

Unfortunately none to report. The bank culture was horrible and distilled people with financial needs into ways to drive account sign ups..etc.

    Cons

Sales pressure - metric driven interaction with customers

I worked at Wells Fargo part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Building relationships with customers and helping them find products that fit their needs.

    Cons

They care more about sales than they do customer service. It was too sales driven and too much sales pressure Ton of micro management

    Advice to Management

Please dont force products that arent needed on customers just to get a sale less micro management

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Solid place to work. Good benefits: flexible PTO, 401K matching 6%. I have been lucky to work with a few great managers and have made lasting friendships with other team members. The training is pretty good and I have experienced an excellent culture of team members supporting and coaching each other.

    Cons

There can be a lot of personal drama depending on your team and manager. Upper management and the people in corporate are completely disconnected from how life in the branch is and make decisions that don’t make sense for real life. Lots of time is wasted on useless and extremely repetitive meetings. It can be difficult to move up if you don’t have a manager who is interested in supporting you. It is definitely a ‘who...
