I have been working at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I have worked in this company for almost 1.5 years so let me state a few facts 1- Wendover pays well 2- open door policy ! This is not a corporation, you don't need to make an appointment with the assistant of the assistant of the CEO you can just see him at the gym in the morning !! Or at happy hour on a Friday or walk by his office and you'll here " hey bud ! How's your day going?" 3- The experience and knowledge...

    Cons

The job can be stressful at times ! But really what job isn't ... Working for Wendover requires being able to adapt quickly to change and have initiative and want to be a leader vs follower

    Advice to Management

Keep making your employees feel important and valued

I have been working at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I've read most of the reviews and agree that people at this company are generally very smart, well-educated and passionate about what they do. Since working here I feel like I've gained a great deal of confidence in my professional abilities, and feel like a much more productive human. Every role at this company comes with high expectations which is great if you feel like you're not being challenged in your current role...

    Cons

I love my role but do not like the way I am currently managed and believe there is lots to improve. I would like our company to look outside of ourselves to admirable, stable companies and do what they're doing in order to grow. This goes for new talent as well. I think some people at this company have gotten too comfortable in their position, aren't being great leaders, and are only extolling the company's values...

    Advice to Management

    1. Hire more people to cut down on workload per person. Every role just has too much responsibility for any one person to feasibly handle. It's not a mindset issue, it's a capacity issue. 2. Stop with the obsessive documentation. Sometimes it's very important but requiring a process or formal write up for every. minor. detail. actually prevents people from thinking critically and taking ownership to problem-solve...

I have been working at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Absolutely none. All reviews with a 1 star is accurate. This company might be a good fit if you can check the following boxes 1. If you like getting humped while trying to do your job. 2. If you are an orphan 3. If you have no friends 4. If you have no social life 5. If you like being harassed by upper management 6. If you like working for a multi polar CEO 7. If you think you're a sheep 8. If you like eating...

    Cons

    1. The CEO is multi polar and you can never tell which personality is going to jump out. 2. Benefits package. Living in the future with a package that predates the great flood. 3. The hours you are expected to work. 4. Glassdoor only allows you to give a minimum of 1 star. Zero would be more applicable to this company.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the CEO.

I worked at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Some of the people are nice.

    Cons

Management is what makes this place a terrible company to work for, starting with the CEO. Within the last month, 7 people resigned from the Administrative side of the business. Management did not even bat an eye. The hours are terrible because you are expected to do the work of 3 people or more due to how understaffed each department is. They can’t keep people and so the people who stay suffer with large workloads. Very...

I worked at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Decent pay and nice people.

    Cons

Top down culture where the top managers/owners make decisions and employees are discouraged from voicing dissent. The lower level managers are just echo chambers and live in a "bubble". You have to drink the kool-aid and pretend that it's the best company ever, truly painful and stressful. No work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse. Truly care and value all of your employees, don't just regurgitate your 1 Wendover BS and believe that makes a great company. You are clueless to the day to day work environment.

I worked at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A lot of the people are nice, you will learn how to work hard and stay organized, decent pay for the industry, you will appreciate all jobs you have afterwards.

    Cons

Wendover has a cult-like culture that glorifies "working hard." They are extremely understaffed in every department, giving each person an unmanageable workload. The turnover rates are absurd because most people don't hate themselves enough to stay longer than a year. They expect employees to work investment banker hours while getting paid the salary of someone who sells fake artwork.

    Advice to Management

Try asking your employees how they actually feel about their jobs, instead of telling them how they should feel.

I worked at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The Team Members are amazing, dedicated, extremely talented people.

    Cons

Narcissistic, egotistical CEO. Culture of harassment, manipulation and retaliation that is beyond toxic. Astronomical turnover rate that contributes to constant stress and unmanageable expectations. 70 hour work weeks are still not enough to keep your head above water.

    Advice to Management

Build your people and they will build your business. Continue to try to build your business without regard to your people and, well, good luck...

I have been working at Wendover Art Group

    Pros

You will gain so much experience at Wendover. Salaries are decent. They offer 3 different healthcare plans to choose from. The people who work at Wendover are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. The people is what makes working here worth it.

    Cons

Wendover does have a lot of turnover. This probably is because hours are long, and there is a Mandatory culture training every Thursday where you must take a quiz afterwards. They treat it as if it is school, which is ridiculous. They also require that you make up any trainings you didn't attend. I can guarantee this is driving people away. They also need to offer more incentives. Provide an employer match on 401k like...

    Advice to Management

See the cons section. Consider creating a better orientation program for new employees. Offer more incentives to retain quality talent. If you offer basic incentives, you will get basic employees who won't want to commit themselves fully to their work . Open the window shades. They are always closed, making the environment a bit glum.

I worked at Wendover Art Group full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Some people think the pay is good. Considering you’re salaried and 11 hour days are the norm the “hourly” breakdown isn’t all that great. Weekend work is strongly encouraged and sometimes mandatory. Be prepared to be on call even when on vacation. Being that you’re salaried none of this mandatory overtime is compensated.

    Cons

The negative review from January 2015 is amazingly spot on. Such a pity that nothing has improved in 3 years. The one thing I can add is now you are forced to take a weekly class on the company’s made up culture that they do not apply. You aren’t allowed to question it or offer improvements. They goal is to be as brainwashed as the Art Consultant review also from January 2015. There is a weekly quiz and it’s all fill-in-the-blank...

    Advice to Management

Realize your success is due to your monopoly on the industry. No one is actually happy to work there, and many customers only do business with you because they have no other choice.
