    Pros

Working in the tasting room is fun, management is good.

    Cons

Upper management needs to pick a policy and go with it instead of changing sales policy constantly.
Hours currently being downsized, I can't tell if we're over- or under-staffed.

    Advice to Management

    the above.

I worked at Wente Vineyards part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work! The environment is beautiful and the management staff supports the service staff with lots of ongoing training. Great food and wine make this a very fun place to work. The guests that visit the restaurant are usually happy to be there and a pleasure to wait on. Tips are often above average and the owners are a pleasure to work for.

    Cons

Late night and weekend work are where the best shifts can be found. But, that's commonplace with the restaurant industry.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Wente Vineyards part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company sets each employee to the path of success by imposing a positive work environment. There was a great deal of teamwork amongst employees and I learned a lot from each individual. The management team was always helpful.

    Cons

The kitchen will always be a stressful environment, but I consider this to be tame.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're already doing.

I worked at Wente Vineyards part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked during the summer as a catering server- the shifts were always different depending on what kind of party you were serving but it kept things interesting and being in a young group made it more enjoyable.

    Cons

Management was very understandable if things ever came up as long as you found someone to cover you and it seemed there were always people willing to take shifts. The hot days outside in a white button-up with a vest and tie were not my favorite.

    Pros

Terrific place to work. Definitely recommend it. Excellent team work and support from upper management. The owners really seem to care about their employees.

    Cons

Salaries could be a little bit higher. Moving up within the company can be difficult at times. No other big complaints really.

    Pros

Fun place to work, lots of wine tasting (!). Good place to learn the restaurant business. The clientele that come into the restaurant are generally happy to be there and it's an overall great place to work.

    Cons

Sometimes the hours in the restaurant business can be kind of tough. However, this is indicative of the overall industry as a whole, rather than the restaurant, itself. The late hours and weekends can be pretty tough.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Maybe bring back some of the "perks" that used to accompany this job - ballgames, sporting events, etc.
