I worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly, collaborate environment. The benefits are great and employees seem to genuinely care.

    Cons

Professional growth can be stunted depending on which department you work in due to a large group of "Lifers".

    Advice to Management

Give newer employees a chance to prove themselves and promote them if their performance warrants rather than keeping someone in a role where they don't belong simply because they've worked there for 20 or more years.

I worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A very professional environment . They are an excellent teaching facility with room to grow as a professional. I would highly recommend employment with this company.

    Cons

There are times that the policies and procedures got in the way of realistic care.
But the intentions are good .

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your employee needs and desires. They stem from doing the job not from managing . Take care of your employees and they will take care of the clients.

    Pros

Frontline staff excellent, good team work

    Cons

Decreased benefits, don't appreciate staff, your only a number, heavy on the administrative end. Need to hire more frontline staff.

    Advice to Management

Start appreciating the front line staff and get rid of the extra administative staff.

I have been working at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The staff at the hospital care for patients like family. This group of nurses is really working to be competitive and provide quality care.

    Cons

Although there is a lot of change currently in healthcare, there is a resistance to change in the facility. The hospital has many long time employees who view the work as what has always been done, instead of making changes for the better.
