    Positive Outlook

I worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly, collaborate environment. The benefits are great and employees seem to genuinely care.

    Cons

Professional growth can be stunted depending on which department you work in due to a large group of "Lifers".

    Advice to Management

Give newer employees a chance to prove themselves and promote them if their performance warrants rather than keeping someone in a role where they don't belong simply because they've worked there for 20 or more years.

    Pros

    Decent benefits, strong provider engagment

    Cons

Dept specific: limited support of continuing education, chronically understaffed in clinical and support areas. Reactionary management style.

    Advice to Management

Management quality highly variable by department. Pay more attention to reports of unjust culture!

    Pros

A very professional environment . They are an excellent teaching facility with room to grow as a professional. I would highly recommend employment with this company.

    Cons

There are times that the policies and procedures got in the way of realistic care.
But the intentions are good .

Really listen to your employee needs and desires. They stem from doing the job not from managing . Take care of your employees and they will take care of the clients.

I have been working at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay and great employees. For the most part the direct people you work with are always willing to help.

    Cons

You're just a number and a reminded of this on a daily basis. The direct staff is friendly but the Managers and Directors are degrading and do not promote a healthy working environment.

    Advice to Management

A little common courtesy goes a long away. You are not better than your staff. We are all human beings and should be treated as such.
