I worked at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Wequassett values it's employees because it knows that they are the heart of the company. As a Wequassett employee I always felt there was opportunity to grow in my career. After showing interest in VIP and group event planning, my manager began inviting me into pre-con meetings. After deciding I was moving cross-country, Wequassett helped place me in a luxury hotel in the city I was moving to and has since kept in touch and helped me in any way they could. They are truly good people.

    Cons

The downsides are not specific to Wequassett but rather to the hospitality industry as a whole. Although many of the guests you meet are wonderful and pleasant, you do encounter the few that treat you as though you are 'the help'. However, in my experience, Wequassett has always fully backed their employees and would never stand for disrespect on any level.

    Advice to Management

    Better food for employees :)

I worked at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Surrounded by mostly passionate and really hard workers, really good pay, excellent employee training

    Cons

worked later than most restaurant jobs as sometimes we would have to wait for weddings to end, break down, and set up for another wedding late at night (but then we got to share in their tipping pool!)

    Advice to Management

try not to get as stressed out during busy nights! sometimes everyone is working their absolute hardest

I worked at Wequassett Resort and Golf Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really look after their staff's wellbeing and morale. Lots of morale boosting activities. Hours are low for a high end kitchen. Staff accommodation given, (though it's not luxurious)! The Cape is fun for seasonal workers

    Cons

Not the best kitchen facilities. Awful pay rates for seasonal chefs ($11 an hour). Crazy busy in the summer. No overtime - many people got a second job to boost income

    Advice to Management

Staff morale boosting is fine so long as you back this up with good pay rates, or at the very least, overtime
