I worked at Werner Enterprises full-time

    Pros

    Very nice to your face

    Cons

They lied to me from the start and I didn't know it until it all started to fall apart. Lied about pay, lied about position, entire experience was negative and when it all fell apart they were scrambling to point out how it was supposedly my fault.

    Advice to Management

If you make a commitment keep it, stop selling a bill of goods that's already rotten

    Pros

Great starter company if you're looking to get into the industry

    Cons

Have big issue with meeting home time request times, especially if you're national guard or reserve

    Advice to Management

Stay on top of your trip planning especially when home time is for military duty.

    Pros

The pay is ok, but as much as you work. You might as well find a job that pays $15 an hour and work overtime

    Cons

Not loyal or considerate to the drivers. And you work very long hours. And you are only home 1 or 2 days a week. Sometimes less

I worked at Werner Enterprises full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I had a good boss, he knew my strengths and challenged my weaknesses. Most of my bosses were outstanding.

    Cons

Directors and above don't have a clue on the 'heartbeat' of that company. They will be the demise; the two quarters were failure, and they, their lack of leadership, is it's direct reflection. They are lost on technology, they are so far removed and behind it's scary. Why they still try and rely on their own IT guys to build garbage programs is beyond me. This company is dying.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your offices and know your teams. You are so engrossed with chasing emails, you're failing at the most common thing, your people.

Everyone treats you kindly and with respect. Business side operates in a confident and reliable manner.

    Cons

ITS division is lacking in competant leadership and modern IT management practices resulting in a disjointed and inefficient

    Advice to Management

Clean house starting with AppTech. Implement modern oganization methods to coordinate support teams.

    Pros

Great benefit package. School reimbursement, always made great effort to get otr drivers home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    Cons

Treat drivers like a dime a dozen number. Disrespectful dispatchers. If you are a trainer, your life was in danger. They do not screen new drivers well enough to see if they have any driving aptitude.

    Advice to Management

Take your drivers lives more seriously!

I worked at Werner Enterprises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get an extra $150 for the holidays you have to work.

    Cons

Low pay. They consider your bonus part of your yearly salary but it is taxed much more than salary. The turnover is huge and why the regional supervisors are still in their 20s.

Drivers are paid much less and are screwed over more, and you have to deal with their legit frustrations

    Advice to Management

    Act like Werner Actually Cares
