Reviews about "good company"
Return to all Reviews- 2.0May 26, 2015Customer Service ManagerFormer Employee, less than 1 yearOmaha, NE
Pros
A lot of fun people to work with. Decent benefits packages. Company has a good wellness program and gym on campus.
Cons
Salaries are not very competitive. Work 50 hour weeks with no overtime. Upper management does not listen to problems. Customer does not come first, it's all about who pays the most money. Constant lying over the phone

Pros
The company has a great schedule where you can work 7 days on then 7 days off. Many people like that
Cons
The people who work Monday through Friday jobs don't work 40 hour work weeks, they work 50. That's too many hours.

Pros
Multiple job locations Large Staple Company with Good Starting pay and lots of assets
Cons
Trying to get anything done on the fly is like pulling teeth sometimes. Knowing who to contact for what is too difficult without having to send the information to large dept. No sick pay. Vacation pay and sick pay are the same pool. Would like to see better insurance package and investment package.

Pros
They train and can get your experience that is needed to get in with any none training companies. They have opportunities to advance in as a trainer.
Cons
Not much pay and older model trucks. Only do the one million mile drivers get the best trucks they have. And it takes you up to maybe 6 to 7 yrs to get that many. Also all trainers get the newer model trucks. Plus they are going automatic transmissions now they have about 80% automatic trucks.

Pros
Very good company to work for with competitive pay, good miles, just be friendly with your dispatch. I had two different dispatches within one year and both were very nice and took things in a professional way taking good care of me. Had to leave the company to travel overseas due to my parents' health issues. Most of times they bring you home on the requested time! They really consider safety important!
Cons
On my point of view, after you make over 2500 miles in the week, they slow you down and start sending you short distance loads and shags loads, so they can manage others drivers reach at least 2500 miles/week too, which is understandable!

Pros
Big and growing company who does care about employees.
Cons
You can find yourself just being a “number” at times

Pros
Great company from humble beginnings, heavily rooted in teamwork and constantly striving to be a premium transportation and logistics provider. CEO and Top Level management is great and handled the company phenomenally through the pandemic. There's opportunity for advancement and other departments. lots of opportunity for additional responsbility. Benefits are pretty good and have only gotten better since i started
Cons
pay is underwhelming, long hours, intense work, high risk of burnout. turnover rate is fairly high. a lot is out of your control

Pros
There are some long-term people who have accrued a wealth of knowledge and are willing to help you out and learn. There is some degree of interdepartmental collaboration when getting things done that fosters a sense of team-work and quid pro quo for getting things done. Standard benefits package and PTO when you accrue it.The opportunity to have a job rather than nothing is of course appreciated, and it is stable enough as long as, like anywhere I suppose, you learn, perform well and contribute. A few of the higher-level managers in the company have some good ideas and experience.
Cons
Directors are indifferent to all needs but their own. In VAS, one is a micro-managing annoyance, one is out of touch with his employees except for his pals who bull-poop in his office (and he doesn't acknowledge the minions nor wants to), another is a pompous donkey rear-end who gets overly worked up and shows little respect for a select few, and the other is the same as the previously described one except more donkey rear-end. One person was hired directly into a sup position which irked quite a few people in other areas, especially when hired just a few months before someone else with more extensive managerial experience, and a higher education with a grad degree from a respected, AACSB accredited university...but the person hired is prettier (and there are more than one of those)...but diversity quotas must be met I assume. Inadequate pay for most positions, and rising through the ranks, unless you are a crony, will take some time. Usual bureaucratic redtape and bullpoop. No COL raises either, so to keep up with and surpass inflation, you had better have a spouse with a better job that DOES, or learn to love bartending or stocking groceries at night. Rather opaque unless, again, you are in the "buddy system" with the "in" crowd.

Pros
Literally one of the best companies to work for! They really care about your safety and wanting you to feel like they care! Christopher Balster at the Dallas Texas terminal was so kind and helpful when I had trouble with my trainer. He was reassuring and caring! If you are looking for a company that puts safety first go BLUE WITH WERNER! Training pay is the highest I’ve seen!!
Cons
I don’t have any conns
