I worked at Wesley Enhanced Living part-time

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn about managing yourself. Must be self motivated.

    Cons

Not a lot of help from higher ups. Many problems must be dealt with on your own.

I worked at Wesley Enhanced Living full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Staff members are friendly to work with , good benefits

    Cons

Kind of chaotic most days, rules change from minute to minute, on 7-3 and 3-11 shifts CNA'S rule the show

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and get the full story! If going to single out certain nurses ALL nurses should be questioned/go through the process the other nurses are going through.

    Pros

The managers are nice and hours are very flexible! Good for students living in the area who would like to work part time.

    Cons

Hours are limited as people are hired and let go pretty often. Not difficult to keep the job as long as you do your work

I have been working at Wesley Enhanced Living full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement for full time staff, you learn a lot on the job, that's really all the pros I can think of.

    Cons

Low pay & poor raises. The most they give these days is 2%, which usually amounts to $.25 if you're lucky. Upper management doesn't care about staff or the residents. They just want the beds filled to make $$$. There isn't much recognition for employees who go above & beyond. Overall low morale. Most employees in my dept. hate working here.

    Advice to Management

If someone is doing well, let them know & pay them accordingly. Listen to your employees when they have ideas to fix a problem instead of brushing them off.

    Pros

I get to work with the elderly.

    Cons

Very unprofessional. It's like high school all over again. It starts from the top with management then work it's way down the line. No one has a clue. Never seen nothing like this before in life.

    Advice to Management

    Better Staff.
