    Pros

    Over time over time overtime

I worked at Wesley Glen Retirement Community part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's fun to get to know the residents

    Cons

The job is hard on the hands, smelly, and touching leftover food when scraping plates is gross.

    Advice to Management

Management seemed a little out of touch with employees. Just remember to be kind.

I worked at Wesley Glen Retirement Community part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management was always very flexible with college students, allowing us to set the hours that we are available to work. Time off could very easily be scheduled, and coworkers are normally very willing to pick up more shifts. Overall, it was a positive work environment with predominantly college aged workers working the dinner shift.

    Cons

Almost the entire management staff turned over in the course of 2 months, and the work environment immediately changed. Tasks would not get done because there was no accountability, and the workers would have to pick up all the slack in the evening. When more managers were hired, they would be very strict about random things. Very high turnover of employees at all levels, leading to an inconsistent work environment.

    Advice to Management

Do anything you can to reduce turnover so everything can be more consistent. I would recommend that you decrease the amount people are able to call off so that floors are not short all the time

I have been working at Wesley Glen Retirement Community part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its rewarding, and enjoyable. Working with the elderly is fun and very rewarding. You get to socialize a lot with the residents and learn about their lives.

    Cons

Management could be a lot better. They don't enforce alot of their rules and a lot of my co-workers get away with slacking off. Its also not as flexible as you would want it to be.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your employees are doing their job and stop making pointless changes

    Cons

Many meetings regarding wellness programs and insurance that are sometimes hard to attend because they are offered once. Not really many cons

I worked at Wesley Glen Retirement Community part-time

    Pros

I really enjoyed working with the residents, and any time I was able to go above and beyond for them and brighten their day was a real privilege.

    Cons

    -constant employee turnover
    -constant pointless HR meetings
    -old, dark, dingy building
-management is not open to improving processes or facilities
-always understaffed so people are forced to cover shifts at the last minute

    Advice to Management

During my time here, I heard so many people put forward great ideas to improve Wesley Glen, but nothing ever really happens or improves.
